Neighbors From Hell

“I live in a townhouse that’s connected to 5 other apartments. A few years back, a young couple moved in right next to my apartment right around the time I found out I was pregnant. They were loud and banged around late at night from the start, but we gave them a pass because they were getting settled in. Then a few days later they got a German Shepard. Our landlord only allows tenants to have 1 pet with a weight limit of twenty-five pounds. However, bigger dogs were tolerated in the neighborhood as long as they aren’t causing issues.
However, the neighbors didn’t bother to pick up after their dog. The small shared yard quickly filled up with dog poop. Then the dog started going on the shared sidewalk everyone used to leave to get to the parking lot. We constantly heard the dog barking, whining, and running up and down the stairs. Their dog was always home and we never saw the neighbors walk it. They just took it out the front door and then straight back inside.
After a week of constant noise from our neighbors, we were shocked when we discovered they got a Husky puppy who whined and howled even louder that the German Shepard. The neighbors did not speak, smile, or acknowledge any of the other neighbors, including us. They gave us dirty looks and ignored us when we tried to say hi. With 2 dogs that they weren’t cleaning up after, there was dog poop all around the townhouse. We have a small dog and we would go out with her holding a bag where the neighbors could clearly see it. This, however, did not stop me from being confronted by other neighbors about the poop. Some were nice and came up and politely asked me to clean up after my dog. Other neighbors took out their frustrations on me. One neighbor literally opened her front door when we were outside and yelled, ‘Are you going to start cleaning up after your dog?’
After talking with the neighbors, they all said the same thing that they hadn’t confronted the other neighbors because their dogs acted aggressive and the people did not seem very friendly. I guess they felt more comfortable confronting a pregnant girl who smiled and said hi to them.
We started looking for other places to rent because there was no way we could live next to these people after our baby was born. Then one day, one of the neighbors who confronted me told me she called the landlord and announced the new neighbors were getting evicted because of their dogs. We saw them moving out a couple of weeks later on the first of the month. After they were gone there were maintenance workers repairing the apartment that these people only lived in for 3 months. One of the workers left the door wide open one day and when I looked in there, there was urine all over the living room walls, and the carpet was destroyed. I’m sure the rest of the apartment also looked terrible.”
“Len The Loon”

“I used to live in a co-op apartment that I inherited from my mother. My neighbor, who I called ‘Len The Loon’, hadn’t gotten along with Mom when she was alive. I never spoke to him even though he lived just a door away from me. The few times we did talk, we were always pleasant, until…
Len The Loon got elected as president of the co-op board. For whatever reason, his new responsibility involved ‘inspecting’ my apartment. That’s when Len The Loon would show up unannounced and walk all over my unit as if he lived there.
The creepy part?
Len The Loon would do his ‘pop inspections’ when he heard the shower running or knew I would be getting dressed for work.
I complained to the vice president of the board. She informed me she would be electing another member to join the inspection crew. But Len The Loon remained.
Weeks later, Len The Loon started sending my sister a bunch of crazy emails. When she told me I needed to move for my safety, I figured I’d better.
I sold the apartment to a middle-aged couple who were very wealthy. The rest of the board was happy to see them, and their money, move into the building. But Len the Loon made it very clear that he didn’t want me to move out.
Len The Loon told me, and everyone within a five-mile radius that I was not going to move until he let me.
In the end, I had to get a lawyer to move out of the building.
When I did finally move, I put a chain lock on my front door, in honor of Len the Loon.”
“I Only Wanted To Be A Good Neighbor”

“My neighbor and I moved into our houses at the same time. When I introduced myself, he didn’t shake my hand and said he ‘didn’t care who I was.’ He told me he hated people like me, how he hated children and never wanted to see, hear or smell one ever again.
Obviously he was very difficult to talk to. Still, I managed to learn that he was a former gang member and was trying to start a new life. He had extreme family issues and blabbed about how he had no problem ‘putting a bullet’ in anyone who tried to visit him. As weeks went by, I noticed my neighbor would mirror my every move as he watched me from my yard. He would play music if he saw me with my radio and he did yardwork when I did yardwork. If I planted a plant in a certain place in my yard, he would plant a plant in exactly the same place a day later.
I thought I was just imagining things, when I bought a new car, two days later I saw my neighbor with a shiny new red Lexus RC 300 in his driveway. Despite spying on me, he never made eye contact with me. It was very odd.
One day I was outside when he pulled into his driveway. I looked directly at him. I was surprised when my neighbor’s eyes suddenly filled with terror. He quickly put his car in reverse and backed out of his driveway. He didn’t come home until three hours later with his girlfriend.
I was outside another time and my neighbor was walking to his truck when he saw me. His posture stiffened straight, and he ran behind his truck and hid as I waved at him. I could not for the life of my figure out why he was terrified of me.
The next day he intentionally drove his Lexus on my driveway and grass. My camera in the garage recorded him riding back and forth over my grass, leaving deep tire tracks. I was pissed. The following morning he was outside using a weed eater. I marched right up to him and asked him what the hell he thought he was doing yesterday. Amazingly, my neighbor denied being on my property.
When I told him I had a video of it, he then said it was his girlfriend driving. After going back and forth, things started getting violent. My neighbor suddenly charged me and yelled, ‘Touch me then, punk!’
I refused and said, ‘I’m calling the police so they can send you to jail where you belong.’ I then told him he was a coward when he hides from me, which he also denied. My neighbor then said if I ever come on his property again he would put a bullet through my brain. I ran inside and called the police. When the police showed up he talked to them first and said I had threatened to kill him and I was getting mad over his girlfriend turning around in my driveway.
When it was my turn, I told the officer I had a video that proved he was on my property, but the officer did not want to see it. All I wanted to do was be a friendly, good neighbor. I put my house up for sale the next day, got an offer the following day, and moved out one month later. That guy had some serious mental problems. What I learned was, no matter what you do, some people are just assholes.
Stay far away from them.”
