1. “I’m Glad He’s In Jail”

“TWENTY YEARS after we’d broken up, my ex FROM HIGH SCHOOL showed up across the street at my child’s preschool and started taking pictures of me and my 3-year-old. Not with his cell phone, either. He had a full-on camera and made a show out of changing the lenses. He made it obvious that he was taking pictures of us. So, I walked into the school like nothing was wrong.
The second I got inside, I told the head teacher, ‘There’s a man across the street taking pictures of the kids as they’re walking into the school.’
She called the cops. I waited inside. Only three minutes later, I heard sirens. The police arrived outside shortly after. The officers were across the street, talking to the ex, looking at his camera, tossing him in the police car, and putting cuffs on him.
The officers took a statement from me, and I explained, ‘He was my ex from high school. I thought it was weird how he was taking pictures of me and my child walking into the school.
The officer replied, ‘Well, there’s enough evidence on his camera to arrest him right now.’
I didn’t ask how many photos my ex had, because I didn’t want to know.
As it turned out, my ex had been following me, along with all of his other past girlfriends. He took pictures of all of us with our husbands, kids, and friends, since 1992! He also kept journals describing how he stalked us including photos of what he’d done and plans of what he wanted to do. He wound up going to jail.
Over the years, weird stuff would happen to me, but I never thought it was my ex. I had random customer complaints about me at all of my jobs. A lot of rumors were started about me. Constant complaints to my landlords. Getting random garbage in the mail I didn’t sign up for. Someone picking up my prescriptions who I didn’t know. When I went to pick them up, the pharmacist would tell me my ‘husband’ picked them up. I wasn’t married at the time. The whole time it was my ex messing with me.
I’m glad that psycho is in jail.”
2. The Twisted Death Threat

“A while back, I was in an on-again and off-again relationship.
My previous girlfriend, now ex, was an only child from a very Italian family. One night, I went to the bar with my coworkers when, surprisingly, I saw my girlfriend there. She was dressed like I’d never seen before.
I waved at her, and her face turned pale as a ghost. She quickly got up and left. Then, some guy walked out of the bathroom, went to the table, and looked confused because she was gone.
I walked over to him and asked, ‘Just wondering, how do you know her?’
‘Oh, she’s my girlfriend,’ the guy replied.
I laughed and said, ‘How funny. I’ve been dating her for the last five years.’
The next day, I left for Philadelphia for a weekend trip with a buddy.
My girlfriend called me and threatened, ‘If you tell anyone I was at the bar last night, I’ll have your mother killed! You don’t want to mess with me!’
I shrugged it off. I knew the only reason she was making an insane threat was because she got caught.
A few days later, I drove back home to go to dinner at my mother’s house. The minute I pulled in and got out of the car, six police patrol cars rolled up and drew their weapons. They searched my mother’s home, including her bedroom, for firearms.
Long story short, my girlfriend reported me to the police. She claimed I WAS THE ONE who sent her death threats, despite her sending them to me. I ended up spending two weeks in jail because my family refused to bail me out.
When I got out, I filed a restraining order against her. We wound up in family court, and then criminal court for terroristic threats. The charges were later reduced to harassment. It turned out my girlfriend recorded the conversation between us on the phone, but edited out the part where she threatened to kill my mother.
After a year of domestic violence classes and probation, losing my civil rights, respect, and my job, she decided to come clean and admit she made the whole thing up and entrapped me. She produced the unedited version of the phone call. Her newfound honesty was due to her new fiance, who told her he refused to get married if she didn’t make things right.
To this day, I’m still going through the process of straightening things out after the mess she created.”
3. “He Stole My Car And Left Me Stranded”

“My ex and I were living together, but our relationship consisted of me watching him play video games all day long while I cooked, cleaned, and did all the laundry. Yeah, not very fun.
When I had had enough, I broke up with him. He admitted he knew I was unhappy for a long time. He asked me not to move out right away, so it would give him time to explain to his daughter why I was no longer going to live there.
About 5 weeks after the breakup, he was my ride to have emergency surgery for my wisdom teeth. He waited until I was unconscious, then he picked up my cell phone and start reading my text conversations with other people. He assumed one of the people I was texting was a guy I was interested in. I wasn’t interested in this guy whatsoever, he was a long-time family friend who was giving me advice.
So, minutes after waking up from surgery, he threw my phone at me and said, ‘Must have been cheating the whole time, weren’t you?’
He then stole my car and left me stranded to take care of myself after surgery. My sister had to drive two hours to pick me up from the surgery center and take me to her house.
The next day, I received a text from my ex saying, ‘I changed all of the locks on the house, so good luck getting in. All of your belongings will be on the front lawn.’
It was no loss to me. When he realized I didn’t regret breaking up with him, he called me profusely apologizing. I didn’t buy it. The funniest part was, for months, he texted me every single day saying how much he missed me and how sorry he was.
To this day, he still tells everyone I cheated on him, though. I’m glad I got out of the relationship.”
4. “I Never Regretted Leaving Him”

“I think my ex-boyfriend was insane.
One time, he was freaking out at me because we took the wrong exit on the highway. It was snowing, and his frustration made him floor it.
He turned to me and said, ‘We’re going to die tonight,’ and proceeded to drive as fast as his card would allow on the icy road. Fortunately, he was able to keep control of the vehicle. Afterward, I told him to take me home immediately. He did, then he went home. A few days later, we had a LONG talk about how he needed mental help, and I put the idea out there for him to get it.
Another time, a few weeks later, we were baking cookies. I liked my cookies pretty raw, pretty much cookie dough passed through a hot room. I paid for the cookie dough, so I figured I’d bake them how I wanted. He could do whatever he wanted for his because he liked his cookies burnt.
When I took the cookies out of the oven and they weren’t baked the way they like, my boyfriend pulled a knife on me. Fortunately, he was smaller and weaker than me, so I restrained him until he calmed down. This time, I gave him the ultimatum of getting mental help within six weeks, or I’d leave him.
He said he would, but he never did. So, I left him. I never regretted leaving him.”
