When it comes to alcoholic beverages, there is quite a selection available in any liquor or grocery store. But for some, venturing to find a different flavor from a variety of natural ingredients by making their own brew is growing in popularity. Unknown to many, there are a variety of greenhouse beauties that can easily be made into a tasty alcoholic beverage for anyone to enjoy.

    Honey

This sweet ingredient delivers an opportunity for making an all natural, great tasting alcoholic beverage. The finished product has a delectable fine taste that resembles that of a flavorful fine wine. Booze from honey is simple to make, in any controlled environment, that everyone will enjoy.

    Bananas

We all have heard since we were little how healthy bananas are for us. If you are not a big lover of this popular fruit, it should be comforting to know that the banana can easily be made into a delicious brew. The juice of the banana needs to be extracted first then a waiting period of about 2 days will payoff with one of the best tasting beverages today.

    Maple Sap

Commonly known as a topping for pancakes, maple sap can be made into a tasty wine. The sap has an abundance of sugar for giving the fermentation process a jump start. Some even make wine from nothing other than the maple sap itself which has an enjoyable sweet and smooth taste, when brewed correctly.

    Carrots

Bugs Bunny would even give this one 2 thumbs up after giving it a try. Carrots, while a surprise to most, are a great vegetable for making booze. While not as high in sugar content as some other vegetables, there is still plenty to get the fermentation process going after the yeast is added.

    Potatoes

These gems are exceedingly high in starch which is what makes potatoes a good choice for making a strong alcoholic brew. The starches convert to sugar when they are first turned into mashed potatoes as part of the process. If done correctly, after the fermentation process is complete, get ready to enjoy a smooth tasting, yet strong drink that will leave a lasting impression on anyone.

    Milk

We all have loved milk since we were little. The milk sugars contained within, is a big part of what made it so attractive tasting to us throughout life. Few know that these "milk sugars" are what makes this product a prime candidate for making a smooth tasting booze that anyone will love.

    Parsnip

Many today are unaware that there was a time, in days gone by, that parsnip was a popular brew among the English. The roots of parsnip are boiled and combined with sugar before adding water for the fermentation process, leaving a distinct wonderful tasting wine. Today, many find this brew to be one of a kind.

    Beets

Lets face it, beets are great tasting before any fermentation process due to their high sugar content. The high amount of sugar is also what makes them a great candidate for making homemade brew. You will likely have to add some sugar to get the process going, but the higher amount of natural sugar already contained within doesn’t hurt for giving this one a distinguished, sweet taste.

    Rice

With a huge popularity in Asia over the centuries, it is no surprise that the people dwelling there were the first to discover the many ways to make rice into different tasting alcoholic brews. Passed down through the centuries, many there have mastered the art of distilling this grain into a distinct tasting wine. With it’s many different varieties, rice is a bountifully versatile food for making booze.

    Cashew Apples

Not well known everywhere, cashew apples can be crushed and made into a strong tasting brew. In various parts of the world, this drink is seen by many as a delectable addition to any celebration. Aloe

Commonly thought of as merely a skin moisturizer, aloe may seem strange to many at first. However the sap from an aloe plant, after having the bitter components filtered out, makes a tasty alcoholic beverage loved by some. There are genetic differences in taste perception among individuals that make this one a winner with some and despised by others.

    Spruce Tree

The spruce tree is not an ingredient that sounds very tasty to most. However, this somewhat unusual component can be made into a delectable brew. In centuries past, it was used in combination with molasses for the fermentation process to treat scurvy.

    Sundew

While saving the strangest for last, the sundew plant makes a sweet, flavorful nectar that is sticky enough to trap flies. In centuries past it was mixed with a variety of herbs and spices to create a unique tasting brew. With proper fermentation, the nectar will produce a mildly sweet and palatable alcoholic beverage.
