  • 13 Reasons Why You Need To Be Taking “Coffee Naps”

    by Oola Team

Are you a coffee junky? Or do you have a daily date with your bed for a mid-day nap? Then this nap fad might be your new favorite energy booster. Coffee naps are basically just that, a combination of drinking coffee and taking a short, power nap. It's that simple and can make your day better in the following ways:

You can have your coffee and naps too.

‘Cause let’s be honest, coffee junkies and sleeping beauties will never give up on either.

No longer are you throwing back gallons of coffee.

Rip out that IV of caffeine and say goodbye to the constant coffee breath, just one cup will do. But just one, too much and you won’t be able to take full advantage of the second part of this energy booster — the nap.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to cut out coffee completely.

To all the coffee fanatics who have started sweating profusely at the thought of limiting your coffee consumption, don’t worry you can still get your fix.

    Because they’re better together.

Experiments have shown combining coffee and naps together is better than having one or the other on its own. Together this dynamic duo maximizes alertness after waking up from your coffee nap.

All it takes is one cup of coffee and a 20-minute nap.

Your credit card bill will be free of countless trips to Starbucks and your bed free of a crime scene-like indentation from spending way too much time in it. Just one cup of coffee followed by a 20-minute power nap and you’re ready to take on the rest of the day.

    Two words: chugging coffee.

Coffee naps now give you an excuse to chug coffee without the person next to you sipping their skinny latte secretly judging your ability to chug like a frat boy on spring break. In order to be able to fall asleep, you need to drink your cup of coffee pretty quickly as it takes the caffeine about 20 minutes to kick in.

No more nap hangovers; yes, they’re a real thing.

Naps are as unpredictable as the weather. Too much sleep or not enough during a nap and you wake up feeling like you’ve been hit by a bus and tossed around a few times. The short, 20-minute nap after your cup of coffee leaves you awake and refreshed getting rid of those nasty nap hangovers.

No longer feel guilty about taking naps.

You can rid yourself of the “wow you’re lazy” stares when you roll out of bed after a three-hour nap. Only 20 minutes, any more and you’ll lose the benefits of the coffee.

Coffee naps don’t waste your time.

You can stop staring at that research paper you put off until the last minute while you wait for your coffee to kick in. Drinking a cup of coffee and then sleeping for 20 minutes gives your body ample time to soak up that caffeine, so you wake up ready to work.

    You’ll have more energy!

With the energy from a cup of coffee and a nap, your body won’t know what hit it. Oh wait, it’s just the feeling of having enough energy to actually get your work done, or maybe run around the block a few times.

    It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s the work-aholic.

You can easily crank out that work project in 30 minutes. OK, maybe coffee naps won’t give you super powers, but they will give you the energy you need to get started on it.

You can actually continually be productive.

Not only can you start that research paper, you can continue to check off your to-do list throughout the day. We all wish there were more hours in the day, well now you don’t have to waste any more of your precious time napping and or making copious amounts of coffee.

    Say goodbye to all-nighters.

You’ll no longer need to stay up until the wee hours of the morning finishing that assignment that’s due tomorrow. You’ll have your to-do list checked and thrown in the trash, leaving you able to sleep peacefully at night; unless of course you’re binge watching the latest Netflix series.
