There is now a rival to Starbucks’ Salted Caramel Mocha. Just in time for the holidays, Pepsi has released a Salted Caramel flavored soda.
“Salted Caramel is a popular flavor that consumers are looking for — and delighted to find — especially during the holidays,” Chad Stubbs, Pepsi’s vice president of marketing, told TODAY.
Along with the salted caramel flavor, Pepsi is also debuting Holiday Brew Mountain Dew.

The sodas officially hit stores November 6th, but so far, the public reception has been… skeptical.

According to a taste test conducted by TODAY, the Salted Caramel soda tastes pretty much like a regular Pepsi, albeit with a salty aftertaste. No word yet if this will be the next big food craze, but the chances are looking slim.
