What Is A Goals Planner?
The basic purpose of a Goals Planner is to have you choose major goals that you want to work on over the next year and keep those in mind while going through day-to-day and week-to-week planning. Once you have your major goals laid out in front of you, it is much easier to keep them in mind and work on pieces of those larger goals each week.
There are several planners out there that are designed to help you achieve your goals in this way, and we listed the best ones below with their key features. They also allow for you to write down reflections you’ve had throughout the month so you can review how you’re doing and adjust your plan if things don’t go perfectly (which, does anything in life ever go perfectly?).
There are a few similarities to the bullet journal, which is something we covered in depth before! Both encourage you to keep track of your goals, but the bullet journal focuses more on keeping track of everything in your life and looking back on the bullets, whereas the goals planner is mainly focused on helping you stay on track with specific goals and looking forward. Bullet journals also offer users a more creative outlet, whereas the goals planner is meant to be minimalistic and help you stay focused on your goals.
Why Does It Work?
Goal planners work because they try to always keep you focused on your goals without overwhelming you. Most people lead busy lives, and it can be very difficult to start on huge yearly goals when you only have a few hours each week to dedicate to them. But with a goals planner you can always try to do small parts of your larger goals each day, and build up to your goals over time. You can also review how well you’re doing along the way to help yourself become more aware of what’s holding you back, instead of just coming up with ambitious goals and getting stuck wondering why you’re not achieving them.

Different Types Of Goals Planners
Full Focus Planner
If you were looking for a goals planner that had most of the setup done for you then you’d be looking to get something like the Full Focus Planner. This particular type of planner encourages you to tackle three big goals for the week as well as the day, and it has you write down morning and evening rituals to help you stay focused each day.
The full focus planner also uses templates for things like “goal templates, an Ideal Week template, daily pages, and rolling quarters.” They also allow you to see your goals in front of you, which help you see what you want to get done and you’ll be more inclined to follow through. In addition to grabbing the planner, you’ll also be allowed to listen to the designed of the planner, Michael Hyatt, as he goes through the elements of the planner and explains how to use it.
This goals planner is built around 90 day cycles so each book has 90 days worth of pages. If you’re interested in grabbing one they’re priced at about $39.50, or less if you buy a years worth.
Passion Planner
The Passion Planner is another route you can take. The site describes it as a planner that “helps you break down your short and long-term goals and incorporate them into your daily life.” They also encourage any potential users to think of the planner as a “24/7 life coach” that you can carry around with you. The planner allows for you to keep track of your daily, weekly, and monthly goals. You can also reflect over the month in a certain section and create your own passion roadmap. They have a few options for you to choose from including ones that are dated and ones that aren’t.
If you’re interested you should prepare to spend about $25.00 to $35.00 per planner depending on the one you’re interested in.
Dailygreatness Journal
This Dailygreatness Journal is one that encourages you to think about the positive things in your life so you can get positive results. The site explains it as being more than a simple planner that can “give you a foundation and a structure to your days that supports you in achieving your goals.” They have a variety of journals that focus on specific aspects of life including parenthood, business, yoga, wellness, and fitness. There are places to mark down a quote for the day, schedule the week, list any appointments, and even space for you to write down your daily mindset.
Depending on the type of journal you get you’ll have a variety of things to do such as listing down what inspires you, having a “genius space,” and a place to write down memories. This goals planner is also centered around a length of 90-day.
They range in price from about $39.95 to $49.95.
inkWell Press
The inkWell Press Journal offers a little more freedom than the others in that it’s not centered around 90 days only. You have the option to choose daily and weekly planners. The daily planner allows you to focus more so on goals you have for a specific day, immediate and important tasks, and space to write down your schedule and notes. The weekly planners give you space to map out your entire week, write down any project ideas, and gives you space to see a monthly calendar.
These guys range from about $44.00 to $54.00.

Of course, there are other varieties of planners available out there and with some further research, you’ll be able to find out the one that’s best for you. If you’re trying to achieve great goals this year and you want to make sure you succeed, though, a goals planner is a good way to go about it.
