McDonald’s is rolling out a menu item that didn’t do so well in the ’90s.

Do you guys remember the Arch Deluxe? To be honest, it’s totally fine if you don’t because not only was this a menu item from the ’90s, but it failed pretty hard and fast back in the day. The sandwich was branded towards being a classier menu item.

It was a little more expensive than the Big Mac and prices ranged from $2.09 to $2.49. CBS News reported that the contents of the Arch Deluxe were “a quarter pound of beef, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onions, ketchup, and a “secret” sauce, all on a split-top sesame seed bun.” In case you’re wondering, the secret sauce was just a mix of mustard and mayo.

The New York Times reported that McDonald’s was pretty sure the sandwich would be huge so they dumped $150 million to $200 million on advertising. Well, the whole thing basically went in the toilet in the late ’90s.

But, McDonald’s isn’t done yet. They’re relaunching the burger under the new alias Archburger. Business Insider reported that the new sandwich will include such toppings as fresh beef, cheese, pickles, and onions. The company is also bringing back their secret sauce.

The same article reported that Becca Hary, a McDonald’s representative, said, “We are continuing to raise the bar for our customers with new menu items and ways to experience our brand.” The sandwich will be brought to seven locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma.

Who knows? What the ’90s may not have been ready for, 2018 could accept with open arms.
