We’ve been waiting for this for years and if you say you haven’t then you’re just lying to yourself. Backstreet’s back, friends, and they’re in the form of alcohol.
You read that right, everyone. The boys that we all loved back in the ’90s are returning in the form of tequila.
They spoke with Tasting Table during a two-show performance at the Moon Palace in Cancun and the conversation quickly veered in the tequila direction. “I like a good reposado or añejo,” Kevin Richardson told them right before Nick Carter went, “And that leads us into talking about our tequila venture that we’ll be coming out with. [We] just need to find a partner here in Mexico.”
Now, BB isn’t the only bunch of celebrities who have created their own tequila brands. Justin Timberlake — of the equally popular ’90s band N’Sync — has his brand Sauza 901. If we’re staying on the ’90s train, Mario Lopez from Saved by the Bell is a partner with the brand of tequila called Casa México Tequila. We covered a list of celebrities who have their own alcohol brands and the list might surprise you! Adam Levine, George Clooney, and Channing Tatum are just a few of the others who have their own brands of tequila.
According to Tasting Table, the guys were also there to spend some time with their families. They caught up with AJ McLean who told them “I had the most amazing dinner at [one of the resort’s] Mexican restaurants. I got to talk to the chef afterward. The food’s been great, and the people have been awesome here. We definitely want to come back [to Moon Palace]; that’s for sure.”
The details are still hidden so we don’t really know when it’s coming out, how much it’ll cost, or if they’re going to have a reunion tour (but that’s unrelated). So, keep your eyes peeled because our favorite boy band just might have something still up their sleeve.
