At home, on your commute, at work, and even the bathroom, your phone is with you. This means that your cell phone is, unfortunately, is likely to be loaded with germs and bacteria. Phones have been shown to be a source of harmful bacteria that can cause diseases, and it’s not exactly common sense to clean your phone frequently. Because of this, it’s important to know how to efficiently clean your phone so you can prevent yourself from getting sick.
How To Clean Your Cell Phone In 5 Steps
Here’s how to clean your dirty cell phone in five simple steps. To efficiently clean your phone, you’ll need the following supplies:
- Microfiber cloth
- Isopropyl rubbing alcohol
- Water
- Cotton swabs
- Cleaning gloves
Step 1: Wipe Down Your Phone
Using a microfiber cloth (to avoid scratching your phone screen) and wipe down the entire phone to remove any surface dust or germs.
Step 2: Make Your Cleaning Mixture
Make a cleaning mixture that is 60 percent water and 40 percent rubbing alcohol and stir everything together.
Step 3: Clean Your Phone With Cloth + Cleaning Mixture
Put on your cleaning gloves to avoid touching the cleaning mixture, or spreading more germs onto the phone. Dip the corner of your microfiber cloth into the cleaning mixture and wipe down the front and back of your phone entirely.
Step 4: Use Cotton Swabs For The Tougher Areas
There can be little creases in your phone that accumulate lots of dirt that your hands and a cloth won’t reach. This is where cotton swabs come in! Dip the cotton swab in your cleaning mixture and run them in those tough-to-reach places to ensure your phone is as clean and germ-free as can be.
Step 5: Wipe Down Your Phone And You’re Done!
Wipe down your phone one last time to dry up the liquid and let it sit for a few minutes. Wash your hands thoroughly, dry them off, and you can use that phone without an overwhelming fear of germs!
It’s recommended to try and clean your phone at least once a day if possible to keep those germs from accumulating. Take the time and sanitize your device!
