  • 15 Delicious Bowls Of Oatmeal to Start Your Morning Off Right

    by Oola Team

Oatmeal is a super nutrious way to start off your day, but some people may find the dish a bit boring on its own. But who said you have to eat oatmeal on its own!? Add these delicious ingredients to your oatmeal to get a breakfast that's both healthy and tastes great!

    Bananas And Honey

Adding the double sweetness of bananas and honey will brighten up any bowl of oatmeal. Bananas provide potassium, the oatmeal fiber and honey provides the sugary flavor to make everything more delicious! The texture will also be amazing.

    Granola

Add a crunch to an otherwise soft food with some granola. Granola is healthy in small doses, about 1/4 or 1/3 of a cup per bowl. Granola is another tasty source of fiber.

    Fruit And Nuts

The soft texture and natural sweetness of fruit. The crunchiness and earthy flavor of nuts. Sliced almonds and strawberries is a wonderful example of a fruit and nut combo.

    Fruit And Flaxseed

Flaxseed is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, oatmeal is high in fiber, fruit is generally high in many different nutrients. When all these items are mixed together, the plating is beautiful and mouth-watering. Try many combinations for various flavors and textures!

    Cinnamon

Sprinkle some cinnamon in your bowl of oatmeal for an extra sweet and spicy flavor. The red color will look lively and inviting. This simple seasoning is perfect for a morning on-the-go.

    Peanut Butter And Chocolate Chips

Heavenly oatmeal? The mixing of peanut butter and chocolate on oatmeal surely has to be close! This medley of toppings is sure to be any kid’s (or adult’s!) favorite.

    Milk Or Cream

Milk will thin down the overall thickness of oatmeal. If you like your oatmeal thick, cream will still keep it plump, but bring a smoothing effect to the texture. Try both for a new personal pleasantry!

    Dried Fruit

Dried fruit will add a crunchy/chewy texture to your oatmeal depending on which kind of fruit is used. It will also bring in amazing fruit flavors. Give raisins, figs or apricots a whirl!

    Nuts

For an earthy crunch try adding whole almonds. You can even mix nuts together by adding walnuts and pecans in the same bowl. Experiment and find your own perfect pairing!

    Quinoa

A grain-like seed from a goosefoot plant, quinoa will add a seedy texture to your oatmeal. This superfood combines well with oatmeal and brings with it a nutty flavor. This mishmash of healthy foods is sure to please crunchy people out there!

    Shredded Coconut

If you’re a coconut fan, then try adding into your oatmeal for a little refreshing flavor. The flavors go great together and will even give you a boost of energy to start your day!

    Bacon

That’s right, oatmeal doesn’t just have to be grainy or sweet! For a savory take on the breakfast classic, add some crumbled bacon bits into the mix.

    Pomegranate Seeds

Pomegranite seeds, or arils, add a pop of refreshing sweetness solely on their own. When you pair arils with oatmeal you’ll be in for a special treat. You can also combine arils with cream in your oatmeal for a sweet and creamy thrill. Arils would go great paired with mandarin oranges and pine nuts as well.

    Nut Butters

After cooking the oats, you can add a dollop of your favorite nut butter to the mix. Whether it’s peanut, cashew, or almond, you’re sure to get some great flavor and protein out of the meal. And if you have a sweet tooth, use some Nutella!

    Pumpkin

For an autumnal twist on your favorite oatmeal, add a spoonful of canned pumpkin to the mix. Throwing in some cinnamon is also a great decision.
