  • The 17 Biggest Food Challenges You’d Be Insane To Try To Do

In the mood to take on a food challenge? Some of these are so insane, you might regret that decision. Restaurants all over the world offer incredible food challenges that even the most hungry people can't overcome, whether it's a crazy quantity or a bizarre type of food. Here are some of the most insane food challenges out there. Would you be brave (or crazy) enough to attempt any of these?

    The Jack-n-Grill Challenge

At the Jack-N-Grill located in Denver, Colorado, this behemoth of a food challenge awaits anyone crazy enough to attempt it. Weighing 7 pounds, this breakfast burrito has 7 potatoes, a pound of ham, an entire onion and 12 eggs. You can’t take a bathroom break, but if you finish the whole thing, you get free food from Jack-N-Grill for life!

    The Inferno Bowl Challenge

At Nitally’s ThaiMex Cuisine in St. Petersburg, Florida, you’re given a 48-ounce soup that’s made of bhut jolokia, which is one of the spiciest peppers in the entire world. If you finish the entire bowl in 30 minutes or less, you get $1,000.

    The 11-Pound Carnivore Pizza Challenge

At Big Pie in the Sky in Kennesaw, Georgia, contestants are given an 11 pound pizza that measures 30 inches across. Two people can team up and have to finish this giant dish in under an hour to receive $250 each.

    The 8th Wonder Challenge

The Clinton Station Diner in Clinton, New Jersey is where you can take on this impossible task. Weighing in at 105 pounds, The 8th Wonder is the largest burger in the world. It measures 28 inches in diameter and 11.5 inches in height. Ten people can team up to finish this mega-burger in an hour or less. That’s 10.5 pounds of food per person in one hour! A cash prize of $5,000 is given to the team that can do it, although no one has ever completed this challenge in the restaurant’s history.

    The Kitchen Sink Challenge

Located at The San Francisco Creamery Co. in Walnut Creek, California, the Kitchen Sink Challenge is a monster sundae with three bananas, eight scoops of ice cream (flavors are of the contestant’s choosing), eight different toppings, whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry on top. If you can manage to get it down in under an hour (and not die from a brain freeze) then you get free ice cream for a year!

    The Jumboli Challenge

Are you a fan of stromboli? If so, try your hand at the Jumboli Challenge in Butte, Montana at Trimbo’s Pizza. This mega stromboli is 80 ounces full of mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, fried peppers and onions, capacolla, salami, pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms, spinach, and ricotta cheese. All in all, it’s 5 pounds of food. Is it worth it? Well, you have to eat it in an hour and all you get is a free T-shirt. You decide.

    The Knucklehead Challenge

At the Knucklehead Hot Dog Diner in Roseville, California, hot dog enthusiasts can try to wolf down five quarter-pound hot dogs, three pounds of chili, and a pound of French fries. You have twenty minutes to eat five pounds of food to get a coupon for a free meal! And a major stomach-ache.

    The Pho Garden Challenge

At Pho Garden in San Francisco, they dump two pounds of noodles, two pounds of beef and tripe into a bottomless broth bowl to comprise The Pho Garden Challenge. If you want a picture on the establishment’s hall of fame, you better chow down in under an hour.

    The 7-Pound Italian Challenge

Like Italian food? Wait till you try the challenge at Mick & Angelo’s Eatery and Bar in Niagara Falls. You’ll have 90 minutes to eat a wide range of Italian classics: spaghetti, grilled sausage, lasagna, chicken parmesan, cheese manicotti, cannelloni, garlic bread, vegetable soup, and even an apple crisp. The only rule is that you can’t leave the table, so you better settle in for the long haul. The prize is a T-shirt, a free meal, and a picture on their wall of fame.

    The Terminator Challenge

At Shelby’s Kitchen and Deli in Deerfield Beach, Florida, breakfast lovers can delight in a 24 inch pancake that serves as the plate for this food challenge. Add four fried eggs, six sausage patties, a pound and a half of bacon, a pound and a half of home fries, and two slices of toast, and you’re sure to get a full stomach for the day. You also get a free meal as a prize.

    The KIDZ Breakfast Challenge

Breakfast lovers can also head to Jester’s Diner in Great Yarmouth in England to try their hand at this challenge. Don’t let the name fool you, however. The KIDZ Breakfast Challenge got its name because it weighs about the same as a small child does. Nine pounds of bacon, sausages, potatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, bread, eggs, beans, tomatoes, and hash browns make this dish a true giant.

The Monster Red Ruby Burger Challenge

At Exeter’s Urban Burger Restaurant in England, seven burger patties, 14 slices of bacon, 7 slices of cheese and two giant portions of fries are served to willing participants who only have 20 minutes to wolf it all down.

    The 72-ounce Steak Challenge

Meat lovers should make their way to The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. If you can eat a 72-ounce steak, a bread roll, a shrimp cocktail, a baked potato, ranch beans and a salad, you get a free meal! That is, assuming you’re ever hungry again.

    The 15 Dozen Club Challenge

At the Acme Oyster House in the historic French Quarter New Orleans, the challenge is simple: consumer 180 oysters in one sitting. Okay, so it’s a lot harder than it sounds. You get a free meal and t-shirt, though!

The Fire in Your Hole Challenge

This challenge at the Munchies 420 Café in Sarasota, Florida sounds easy (eat 10 hot wings) but it comes with a hitch: these wings are coated with extract from the hottest pepper in the world, the ghost pepper. Plus, you only have 20 minutes to eat all of them. If you lose, you go on the loser’s hall of fame wall, too. Now that’s high stakes.

    The Land Lubber’s Challenge

At Port Royale Grille in Islip, New York, you start this challenge with a soup or a salad. After that, it’s a full rack of ribs, a 14-ounce grilled rib-eye steak, an entire pound of pulled pork, a half-pound of BBQ chicken, French fries, coleslaw, and baked beans. All of that gets you bragging rights and a free meal.

    The Bacon Bomb Challenge

At Paddy Long’s in Chicago, you can get five pounds of ground sausage, pork, and beef that’s wrapped and slow-cooked in brown sugar bacon. Normally, this would serve up to 8 people – for the challenge, you have 45 minutes to eat it on your own. Good luck!
