I love a clean floor. But my love of a clean floor is constantly at odds with cohabitating with children and a dog. I own a Roomba and get my house cleaned regularly. Yet that clean floor feeling I crave while walking barefoot still escapes me most days.
Since Amazon is practically my BFF, it’s no surprise that I was expertly targeted with an ad for the Slipper Genie Microfiber Slippers a couple of weeks ago.
These beauties are not going to win any fashion awards, but then I looked in the mirror and realized they were very “pandemic chic” and fit in nicely with my sweatsuits and old tees. (My husband is such a lucky guy!!) My interest was definitely peaked.
Then, I saw these slippers had over 500 five star reviews and came for the low low price of only 13 dollars. I scooped these up in purple and was excited to see they would be delivered the next day.
Are They for Mopping? Sweeping?

I got a lot of questions from friends and family about what the point of these was. My first thought was just having slippers that did extra work for me, even if it was just picking up dust. Turns out they do a great job of picking up little crumbs and taking away my dirty feet anxiety.
I also wear my microfiber cleaning slippers while mopping. They’re great for sopping up water drops from a stray ice cube or random drops of liquids in the kitchen.
The final selling point of Slipper Genie Slippers is that the soles are attached with velcro so they can be easily removed and tossed in the washing machine. The instructions say to throw them into the dryer for a few minutes, then air dry flat. I am not sure how well they will hold up after multiple washes, but for the low price, I am less concerned about durability.
