    Effective DIY Cleaning Products You Can Make At Home

    Whether you’re worried about what chemicals cleaning product companies use, just ran out of Windex and are in a pinch, or think cleaning products cost too much and would rather DIY, here are some cleaners you can make at home.

    Homemade Window Cleaner

    Distilled white vinegar is the MVP in our Homemade Window Cleaner #1:

    • 1 ½ cups of water
    • 1 ½ cups distilled white vinegar
    • 1 drop liquid dish soap
    • Mix all ingredients well in an empty spray bottle

    Dawn and hydrogen peroxide are the dynamic duo in our Homemade Window Cleaner #2:

    • 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
    • 2 1/2 cups water
    • 1 drop dish soap
    • Mix all ingredients well in an empty spray bottle.

    DIY Carpet Cleaners

    DIY Vinegar Carpet Cleaner:

    • 1 cup distilled white vinegar
    • 2 cups water

    DIY Dish Soap Carpet Cleaner:

    • ½ cup dish soap
    • 2 cups water

    DIY Disinfectant Sprays and Wipes

    DIY Disinfectant Spray:

    • 70% rubbing alcohol: no water needed
    • 2 parts 90-99% rubbing alcohol to 1 part water
    • Hydrogen peroxide: no water needed (hard surfaces only)
    • 4 teaspoons 5.25%-8.25% bleach to 1 quart of water

    DIY Disinfectant Wipes:

    • Same ingredients as disinfectant spray above
    • Receptacle: Old disinfectant wipe container, coffee container, mason jar, Tupperware, or a plastic, screw-top, wide-mouth container
    • Paper towels
