Making the Cake:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8 inch round cake pan.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate chips and butter. Heat in the microwave for about 2 minutes or until mixture has completely melted.
  • Then, beat the eggs, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla until it has thickened.
  • Next, combine the two mixtures and stir well.
  • Pour the batter in the baking pan and bake for about 1 hour and 25 minutes.
  • To check to see if it's finished baking, insert a toothpick in the center. It should come out wet not gooey.
  • When it's done, flip the tray over to slide out your cake and let cool.

Making the Icing:

  • Combine chocolate and cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat until the mixture until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Take out of the microwave and let cool.
  • After it's done cooling, spread it over the cake using a small spatula. Top with raspberries or confectioners sugar.
