Spaghetti and meat sauce is a staple for any home. What’s not to love? Pasta mixed with meat sauce, topped with parmesan cheese, and basil? Phew. Who dares say no? The dish was simple enough to create on its own, but now there’s an even easier way to get it onto your plate. Our recipe for instant pot spaghetti puts everything together in one pot for easier prep and clean up.

Instant Pot Spaghetti For A Stress Free Weeknight

    Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 2 teaspoons olive oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 pound uncooked spaghetti noodles
    • 1 24-ounce jar of tomato sauce
    • 2 cups water
    • Freshly grated parmesan cheese to taste

    Supplies

    • wooden spoon

    Directions

    1. Set your instant pot to the sauté setting and allow to warm up.

    2. Once heated, add the ground beef and olive oil. Using a wooden spoon, stir the beef until no longer pink (5-6 minutes) and break into smaller pieces. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper.

    3. Once the beef has browned, turn off your instant pot.

    4. Break your spaghetti in half and place in the pot over your beef. Add the water then scrape the bottom to ensure the meat doesn’t activate the “burn” warnings on the instant pot.

    5. Add sauce over everything; if necessary, gently push your noodles down until they’re completely submerged in water. Do not stir from here on out.

    6. Seal your instant pot and cook everything on high for 8-9 minutes.

    7. After the allotted time has passed, use manual quick release to open the pot. Stir everything together very well or until the noodles are entirely covered with sauce.

    8. Serve immediately with grated cheese.

Lots of toppings go well with spaghetti! Cheese is obviously everyone’s first choice, but you can garnish your pasta with:

    • fresh parsley or basil
    • freshly ground black pepper
    • herbs
    • toasted breadcrumbs
    • red pepper flakes

Experiment in the kitchen to see which herbs and spices you prefer best with your instant pot spaghetti. If you’d rather keep things classic with just some freshly grated parmesan cheese, no one would blame you.

    Appetizing Side Dishes

A plate of spaghetti on its own is enough to get us excited, but you can pair it with equally yummy food for a more enjoyable dinner. Serve garlic bread, bruschetta, steamed vegetables, or a healthy salad alongside your noodles.

Preparing a scrumptious plate of spaghetti just got way easier. Add your favorite ingredients into an instant pot for a one-stop-shop method. Live life to your tastes with spices and additional garnishes of your choosing!
