Ask any regular Disney park-goer what’s a must-have treat that deserves a spot on your snack credit list, and they’ll without a doubt recommend you place the iconic Dole Whip at the tippy top!

The Dole Whip is a creamy pineapple; soft serve frozen dessert. This sweet cult classic is appealing to several park goers! The light and citrusy notes make it a popular choice for a crisp and refreshing pause under the hot Florida sun.

Disney’s original pineapple Dole Whip is such a fan favorite that it has been reimagined into various tropical flavors – such as mango, lemon, lime, orange, and raspberry! Take a stroll around the world, and you’ll soon discover that some deliciously novel desserts feature the favorite frozen dessert as well. At Aloha Isle in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom, you’ll find a Dole Whip pineapple upside down cake, while over at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs you’ll come across a booze-infused Dole Whip cookie sandwich. You can also savor a Dole Whip spiked with Rum, at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

    2. Carefully pour the mixture into ice cube trays. Place the ice cube trays into the freezer. Freeze for 4 to 6 hours or until firm.

    3. Remove the trays from the freezer. Transfer the frozen pineapple cubes back to the blender. Pulse until the consistency is grainy. Add non-dairy milk of your choice in 1/2 cup increments blending until the mixture has a smooth and creamy texture.

    4. A homemade dole whip will be sensitive to heat and melt quickly. Serve immediately or keep it frozen. Enjoy!

    What’s In A Dole Whip?

A Dole Whip is a dairy-free, soft serve frozen dessert prepared from a Dole soft serve mix. The original pineapple and orange varieties found at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom are considered vegan, as the mix no longer contains sodium caseinate. But, the vanilla mix, unfortunately, does still include sodium caseinate which vegans will want to avoid.

    The original pineapple variety contains the following ingredients;

    • sugar
    • dextrose
    • stabilizers
    • coconut oil
    • maltodextrin
    • citric acid
    • natural and artificial flavor (contains pineapple juice powder)
    • modified food starch
    • malic acid
    • beta carotene (color)
    • mono and diglycerides
    • silicon dioxide (anticaking)

Our copycat Disney Dole Whip recipe contains only six ingredients. Our Dole Whip is dairy free; however, the use of gelatin does not make this recipe vegan-friendly. Pineapple juice powder can be substituted for pineapple gelatin, and adjusted to taste for a stronger Hawaiian-like flavor.

The full-fat coconut milk gives this copycat Disney Dole Whip its luscious creamy texture and light tropical notes while keeping it dairy-free.

Counting down the days until your next Disney vacation can be tough! You don’t have to stand in line at Aloha Isle to get your next Dole Whip fix. Bust out a blender and some simple ingredients, and you’ll be transported to the parks in no-time!
