Beef Stroganoff is a retro family dinner classic with mid-19th-century Russian roots. Traditionally, beef Stroganoff consists of sautéed beef smothered in sour cream sauce with onions and mushrooms. This deliciously warm creamy dish has seen many variations through the years, thus making it a fabulous recipe to suit your tastes.

Our beef Stroganoff is prepared in a slow cooker. The perfect recipe for busy families on the go, looking to “set it and forget it.” The slower cooking times ensure that the beef is fork tender and juicy, ready to be served over hot buttered egg noddles, smothered is a luscious golden mushroom sauce.

    • 1/2 cup onions

    • 1 packet dry onion soup mix (Lipton Recipe Secrets Recipe Soup & Dip Mix Onion)
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 bouillon beef cubes (Knorr Bouillon Beef Cubes)
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 4 ounces cream cheese
    • 2 tablespoons sour cream
    • salt and pepper, to taste

    Supplies

    • medium bowl
    • slow cooker
    • large skillet

    Directions

    1. Wash and dry the produce. Carefully mince the garlic, chop the onions, and slice the mushrooms. Set the mushrooms aside in a medium bowl.

    2. In a slower cooker, combine the cubed beef, golden mushroom soup, chopped onions, minced garlic, dry onion soup mix, water, Worcestershire sauce, and bouillon beef cube. Stir to combine. Cook on low setting for 5-6 hours.

    3. In the last hour, prepare your mushrooms. In a large skillet melt butter over medium-high heat. Sautée the mushrooms until they are lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add the sautéed mushrooms, cream cheese, and sour cream to the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking time. Stir to combine. Salt and pepper, to taste.

    4. During the last 30 minutes of cooking time, prepare the egg noodles according to package directions. Serve beef Stroganoff over hot buttered egg noodles. Enjoy!
