Creating A S’mores Bar For Your Party

It may seem like the summer is far away, but it’ll be here sooner than you think! With summer comes the great parties or entertaining that we usually do for friends and family. While the classic house party is one we’ll most likely be hosting or attending, there are ways you can really spice up your own hosting.

Setting up a s’mores roasting station is a great way for you to add a little something to your parties! Check out the simple way you can create your own and the ways you can make it your own.

    What You’ll Need

    • Planter box
    • Packing peanuts
    • Decorative rocks
    • Canned heat
    • Wooden poking sticks

    Steps:

    • Fill the planter box nearly to the top with packing peanuts. You want to make sure that you have at least two or three inches of space left.
    • Add the decorative rocks on top to fill the remaining space.
    • Light the canned heat.
    • Make your own s’mores!

That’s it! It’s honestly so easy to make your own s’mores roasting station and it won’t set you back very much either given the minimum amount of materials. Together everything should cost you about $200. The canned heat will clock in around $60.00 to $70.00. The decorative stones won’t set you back more than $20.00 (approximately), but planter boxes cost about $100 to $150 depending on where you go. If you hit up Walmart, though, you should be able to find some rectangular boxes on the cheaper side.

There are a few ways you can add to your station to make it your own.

With a variety of decorative stones available, you’ll be able to add to the aesthetic by choosing stones to match your color preferences. You can also put the chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows on a three-tier stand to jazz it up a little more, or just serve them on a plate to keep things simple.

If you want to give your homemade s’mores bar an outdoorsy feel then you can also add a couple potted plants to the planter box and a few decorative pinecones to give it a different vibe. You can also up the ante by adding a homemade fire pit to your backyard and make the entire thing a cookout. We wrote a whole piece on how simple it is to build a fire pit, too, so definitely consider that if you’re interested!
