Roast beef is a juicy meal we can’t wait to sink our teeth into. It’s also a forgiving meal that lets you try various ingredients and spices to cater to your tastes. Switch things up to perfectly meet your needs or try your hand at a spicier version.

For the spicy dinner, you can add about 1-2 teaspoons of chili flakes or up the ante with 1-2 tablespoons of chili powder. A teaspoon or so of Cajun spice also works as a great substitute. Similarly, while we all love a good dose of Worcestershire sauce in our marinades, you can tag in some Tabasco sauce. Just be sure to only include about a teaspoon or so as opposed to 1-2 tablespoons. We like spice, but we also like it when our mouths aren’t engulfed in flames.

If, on the other hand, you’re not too keen on heat, you can stick about half a cup of barbecue sauce in with your roast beef. The slow cooker will ensure the flavor gets deep into the beef and you’ll have a savory meal oozing with that sweet BBQ flavor.

    Low-Fat Option

You can easily transform your crockpot roast beef into a low-fat dish. That’s one of the perks that makes this dish so spectacular. Instead of a three or four-pound cut of beef, try a cut around two pounds. You can keep the same dry ingredients going and use water in lieu of beef broth.

    Low-Carb Option

You can also easily transform your crockpot roast beef into a low-carb dish. Simply exclude the potatoes from the main recipe and substitute with a side of cauliflower mashed potatoes instead.

    Gluten-Free Option

This dish is pretty much already gluten-free. So, if you or someone you know has dietary restrictions, this is still a safe dish! If you’re looking to add some soy sauce in there (as some chefs do), you can find gluten-free options in stores.

Crockpot roast beef yields a healthy serving of tender meat that’s a perfect choice for dinner. You can fiddle around with the ingredients as much as you like to ensure they match your tastes, but we’re pretty confident you’ll love the recipe we whipped up!
