CBD is a safe, natural, non-habit-forming substance, one phytocannabinoid compound of the more than 100 found in the plant cannabis. CBD is a favorite and trusted remedy amongst many individuals when seeking healthy alternatives for pain, stress, and sleep management. There are various ways to reap the health benefits of CBD; such as CBD-elicious infused smoothies! Consuming homemade gummies is yet another unique and fun twist on this latest health trend!

    Homemade CBD Gummies

    Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup fruit juice of your choice ( Lakewood Organic Pomegranate with Cranberry Juice)
    • 1 drop AmeriColor Soft Gel Paste of your choice (optional)
    • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
    • 2 tablespoons honey
    • amount of CBD oil desired (see article)

    Supplies

    • medium saucepan
    • whisk
    • measuring cup
    • silicone molds
    • pipette
    • baking sheet
    • airtight container

    Directions

    1. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add the juice and bring to a simmer. If adding a food dye, add it now.

    2. Using a whisk, mix in the gelatin until there are no visible clumps. Next, add the honey stirring until the mixture is well combined, about 30 seconds.

    3. Turn the stove off. Remove the mixture from the heat. Pour in your desired amount of CBD oil. Using the whisk, stir to combine.

    4. Pour the mixture in a measuring cup for easier access when transferring the mixture to molds with a pipette.

    5. Set your silicone molds on a baking sheet. Using a pipette, divide the juice mixture evenly into the molds – filling each mold to the top. Then carefully place the baking sheets into your refrigerator to set. Wait 3-4 hours before removing gummies from their silicone molds. If gummies seem too wet, they need more time to set.

    6. Carefully remove the gummies from their molds. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Homemade CBD gummies will keep for up to ten days.

    Recipe Notes

To speed up the setting process, gummies can be transferred to the freezer. Wait 30 minutes to 1 hour before removing the gummies from the silicone mold. But, the gummies may form an icy surface. Keep an eye on them to avoid freezing.

How Do I Figure Out How Much CBD Oil To Use And How Much CBD Oil Is In Each Gummy?

If you’re wondering how to determine how much CBD oil to use in your homemade gummies, there is an easy equation you can use. You’ll need to know the servings per container and how much mg of CBD oil is in each serving.

For instance, our CBD oil was 30 servings per container and 15 mg CBD per serving at 1 mL.

( number of servings in a container) x ( number of mg CBD per serving) = 450mg CBD per batch

Now, you’ll need to know how many gummies you’ll want to make. We had three silicone gummy bear molds which provided us with 35 bears each – a total of 105 gummy bears.

To figure out the CBD serving per gummy, use the following equation:

(amount of CBD per batch) / ( amount of individual gummy molds)

In our case, the recipe ended up like this: 450mg of CBD / 105 gummy bears = approximately 4.25mg CBD per gummy bear.

If you want stronger or less potent gummies, you will tinker with the amount of CBD based on the volume you’re making with your silicone molds. It’s recommended that individuals new to CBD start off dosing slowly until they become familiar with the effects.
