  • Ranking Every Upcoming Disney+ Series Marvel Has Announced

    by Zach Brown

    12. Agatha: Coven of Chaos

Is this really necessary? Agatha was a great character on WandaVision but does she really need her own dedicated series? I’m sure the concept could work but this one definitely feels like a bit of a money grab after they saw how well received the character was.

    11. Echo

I’m going to admit this right off the bat, you couldn’t have paid me to watch the Hawkeye series. With that being said, Echo sounds like a very intriguing character. She’s the adoptive daughter of Kingpin, whom they apparently took everything he had going for him in Daredevil and ruined on Hawkeye. She’s a deaf martial artist who is capable of perfectly copying another person’s movement. I do love a good anti-hero story!

    10. Ironheart

It’s hard to put a ranking to this one because we haven’t met the character yet. The hype for this series could go higher or lower depending on what we see from the character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. What I do know is Ironheart is Riri Williams and she appears to be the replacement for Iron Man.

    9. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

This one still feels a little out of left field but it definitely has me intrigued. Admittedly, I don’t know much about She-Hulk aside from what they’ve shown of the character in the trailers. I assume they’re building her up to eventually replace Bruce Banner as the token green hero in the Avengers but they’re doing it through a lawyer show? Better Call She-Hulk? I was excited to see Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner get a little shine in the most recent trailer but I wouldn’t be shocked if he were just a cameo at the beginning of the series. Also, if the CGI already looks bad in the trailer I know it’s going to be rough in the show.

    8. What If…? Season 2

I really enjoyed the concept of What If…? and I’m sure they have an almost endless supply of storylines they could use. I love the one-off episodes but I couldn’t get into all of the storylines they covered. I’m sure season 2 will be similar with some good episodes and some not-so-good episodes.

    7. Daredevil: Born Again

It genuinely hurts me to put Daredevil so low on this list but 18 episodes?! I loved the Netflix series but it felt a little slow at times with only 10 episodes every season. Even some of the episodes in the other Disney+ mini-series with like 6 episodes have felt unnecessary and you mean to tell me they’re going to go 18 for 18? Charlie Cox reprising his role is automatically going to make it pretty good but it’s going to be hard to pull off a phenomenal show with so many episodes.

    6. Loki Season 2

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Loki just supposed to be a mini-series? Isn’t Kang the Conqueror making a full-on appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania? I’m still giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one because season 1 (I guess that’s what we’re referring to it as now) was so good.

    5. Marvel Zombies

The zombie episode of What If…? was the best, in my opinion. Obviously, making anything into a series is a risk but they have well-received source material to use from the Marvel Zombies comic series.

    4. X-Men ’97

They had me at “Hey, we’re continuing a 90s cartoon series,” with this one. Objectively, the X-Men is such a cool group of heroes and we’ve seen flashes of their greatness but never any long-standing success. I think Disney having the keys is finally going to give the characters the shine they deserve and it’s going to start with this series.

    3. Spider-Man: Freshman Year

Anything Spider-Man related is obviously going to land really high up on this list. As we’ve already seen how Spider-Man was inducted into the Avengers, the show is likely going to cover different introductions of Spider-Man into the MCU across different timelines. We’ve seen they can do Spider-Man right so the more web-slinging content the better!

    2. Secret Invasion

I’m so pumped for this one largely because I think it has the most intriguing storyline out of all of the upcoming series. Shape-shifting Skrulls infiltrating the Earth and replacing their heroes? We already saw how chaotic that can be in Spider-Man: Far From Home. One insider called the trailer “dark with a Captain American: The Winter Soldier vibe.” If it has a similar vibe to one of the best movies Marvel has put out to date, sign me up!

    1. I Am Groot

Was there ever even a question? Technically it doesn’t have full-length episodes like the other entries on this list but original shorts of nothing but Groot and his adventures?! Could it get any more wholesome than that? Give me all of the Groot content.
