    1. “The Situation Was Absolutely Insane”

“A while back, I worked the drive-thru at Dunkin’ Donuts. While working, I took a woman’s order who seemed slightly strange. However, I ignored her behavior and prepared her beverage. In the meantime, a coworker of mine, ‘Carly,’ started talking to the woman at the drive-thru window.

The woman pointed at me and asked, ‘What’s her name? She was SO rude to me when I ordered!’

Knowing this was untrue and uncharacteristic of me, Carly responded, ‘You aren’t being very nice.’

The woman drove off with her beverage, and the interaction came to a close. Or so we thought.

About three days later, the same woman stomped into our lobby screaming profanities.

She yelled, ‘You better tell Carly to calm down, or else I’ll get Mike Meyers and Chevy Chase to attack her! She’s a witch!’

    Girl, what?

After terrifying all of the other customers in the restaurant, she walked back out to her car. Bewildered, my fellow shift leader and I looked at each other and snickered. Big. Mistake.

The customer saw us, ran back into the restaurant, and screamed, ‘Now, I know in my heart of hearts y’all aren’t laughing at me because I’m not afraid to come behind there and fight!’

We held back our laughter and the customer left.

Later the same evening, we received a phone call. I happened to answer the phone, and it was the same woman who caused a commotion. She claimed she had a ‘mental problem,’ and didn’t mean to make ‘such a scene,’ She sounded genuinely guilty, so I forgave her.

Despite her grief, the situation was still absolutely insane. My co-workers and I had a good laugh about it for a while.”

“I worked as a waitress when I had a group of people sit in my section. They seemed friendly and they knew the restaurant manager.

A couple of people in the group asked for order suggestions, and one woman asked, ‘Do you like the spinach dip? Do you think it is big enough to eat for a meal?’

I truthfully answered, ‘Actually, it is one of my favorite appetizers. However, it just comes in a small cup. I don’t think it would be enough food for a meal.’

Just as I finished taking everyone else’s orders, one of the men from the table got up and came back a few minutes later.

I continued working when another waitress aggressively tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a cup of spinach dip.

    ‘What’s this for?’ I asked.

    ‘No idea,’ she responded.

I radio my manager, and she yelled back, ‘It’s for my group of friends! I heard you told them the spinach dip wasn’t good and they couldn’t order it! Next time, let people order what they want! You’ll be fired if you do it again!’

The guy at the table told my manager they asked to order it and I told them no. I couldn’t believe it.

I walked the spinach dip over to the table and the woman asked, ‘Wait, what is this for?’

‘My boss insisted I bring it out,’ I replied, ‘She was under the impression I refused to let you order it.’

The woman started looking around confused, and the man’s face turned red as he hung his head in silence. Obviously, I knew he told my manager and he was aware I knew. I apologized to the woman, and she was sweet and understanding of the situation.

At the end of the night, I tried to explain the mishap to my manager. However, she wanted no part of it. When I came in the next day, two of my male managers were upset with me until I sat them down and explained what happened. One of the managers was understanding, but things weren’t the same with the other two managers afterward.

Thankfully, I didn’t work at the restaurant much longer.

All over some stupid spinach dip.”

    3. “I Felt Bad For The Employees”

“Years ago, I stopped in a McDonald’s in rural Maryland. The guy in front of me ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a Coke, picked his meal up, and walked away.

As I finished telling the cashier my order, the same guy walked back up to the counter with a half-eaten burger.

He shoved the half-eaten burger at the cashier and asserted, ‘This doesn’t taste right.’

The cashier silently took the burger and handed him another one. I finished ordering, paid for my food, and stood at the side of the register. Suddenly, the man stomped up to the counter again. The process repeated. He shoved the second half-eaten burger at the cashier, said it wasn’t right, and took a new burger.

When my food was finished, I said something to the cashier along the lines of, ‘He sure is picky.’

The cashier gave me a sad half-smile and replied, ‘You think? He does it every single day.’

The guy was scamming a free cheeseburger every day and getting away with it. The store policy was just to hand over a new burger if there was at least half left. I felt so bad for the poor employees.”

“My mother previously worked as a waitress at The Cheesecake Factory. One time, she had an older man and his party sit at her table.

When the party sat down, my mom noticed the older man was fidgeting around with a loose tooth in his mouth. She didn’t think much of it until the man called her over because he supposedly ‘found something,’ in his food. Lo and behold, it was his tooth he pulled out of his mouth. The man and everyone in his party tried to play it off like they didn’t know where the tooth came from. The restaurant manager knew they were lying, but decided to give the party complimentary meals to save everyone the trouble.

The older gentleman proceeded to happily eat the rest of his free meal and then leave without tipping.

    People were so weird.”
