Bridezilla Brittany’s Wedding

Sure, weddings are stressful. Between picking a dress, wedding venue, and inviting guests, there is a multitude of tasks to complete in a short amount of time. Wedding planning oftentimes brings out the worst in people, and can cause a bride to be labeled as a “bridezilla.” In fact, nobody knows a bridezilla better than our good friend, “Alyssa.”
Alyssa dated her husband “Brad” years before they got married. When Alyssa and Brad first began dating, Alyssa was introduced to another woman in his friend group, “Brittany.” While Alyssa and Brittany had their differences, Alyssa liked her well enough to agree to attend her wedding when she got engaged.
From the moment planning began, Alyssa could tell something wasn’t quite right with Brittany’s wedding. Their friend group wasn’t rich by any means, and in fact, Brittany and her beau were far from it. Despite this, Brittany began acting as if she was classier than the rest of the friend group, bossed her bridesmaids around, and demanded expensive wedding registry gifts. Bridezilla, who?
Alyssa didn’t say anything to keep the peace and simply went along with bridezilla Brittany’s delusions. However, when Alyssa teamed up with another fed-up bridesmaid, “Sarah,” they created a devious scheme to sabotage Brittany’s money-grab wedding once and for all secretly. We love a good revenge story!

Pathetic Wedding Parties

When Alyssa and her husband Brad first got together, he introduced Alyssa to another woman in his friend group, Brittany. Brittany was considered the “queen” of the group and was vastly different than Alyssa. While Brittany was the girly-girl type and Alyssa was more of a tomboy, Alyssa made it a point to try to get along with Brittany. After all, she liked her well enough.
However, trouble began brewing when Brittany got engaged and started planning her wedding. Only days into wedding planning, Alyssa could tell something wasn’t quite right with Brittany. Brittany was beginning to act rude, demanding fancy and expensive gifts on her wedding registry, and acting as if she was classier than her bridesmaids. The real kicker? Nobody in the group was rich, not even Brittany. At the end of the day, she was confusing a “classy” wedding, with a plain old expensive wedding.
Brittany is shaping up to be a real bridezilla!
On top of expensive gifts, Brittany’s wedding had two engagement parties. At the first party, Brittany encouraged her guests to bring extravagant gifts. At the second party, she insisted guests bring cash for a money tree. There were two bridal showers, one of which included another money tree. Dang, Brittany was raking in the dough! Between the expensive gifts and straight-up cash, no wonder she wanted so many wedding parties!
Besides the obvious cash-grab parties, Brittany had an out-of-town bachelorette party, a bridesmaid’s tea party, and various “ladies’ nights” at Brittany’s house. At the tea party, the bridesmaids paid as a gift to the mother of the bride. On the ladies’ nights, the bridesmaids went to Brittany’s house for enforced craft time to make wedding favors, all without any type of food or drinks provided by Brittany. What a piece of work!
At this time, Alyssa and Brad were struggling financially, so constantly spending money on Brittany’s wedding was difficult. Little did Alyssa know, the needless spending and annoying guilt tripping from bridezilla Brittany were far from over.

The Weird Wedding Registry

When Alyssa mentioned to Brittany how she couldn’t afford to spend more money on her wedding, Brittany condescendingly replied, “Oh, Alyssa! I made you one of my twelve bridesmaids out of respect for your relationship with one of my oldest friends, Brad. What do you mean you can’t take two unpaid days off of work and spend five hundred bucks on my weekend-long bachelorette party?”
Seriously, Brittany? What a guilt trip! Only five hundred bucks? Get real!
Afterward, Brittany called Alyssa’s husband and the other bridesmaids, pretended to cry, and asked, “Why doesn’t Alyssa like me? Does she have an issue with the wedding?”
No, Brittany. Alyssa didn’t have a problem with your wedding. She had a problem with your bridezilla behavior! Read the room, girl!
A few days after Alyssa’s phone call with Brittany, she was forced to spend almost three-hundred bucks on a hideous navy blue bridesmaids dress from one of the city’s most expensive bridal salons. Alyssa knew she would never wear the dress again after the wedding, and it probably cost less than two bucks to make. Worst of all, Alyssa had to go out of her way to find matching navy blue pumps, which would set her back another fifty bucks. At least she could donate the clothes after the wedding, right?
As Brittany’s wedding day became closer and closer, it meant it was time for the guests to shell out money for the gifts on Brittany’s registry. If a guest didn’t know where to purchase a gift, never fear! Brittany and her future husband created a wedding registry at nearly every store in the area. From computers, kitchen appliances, and flat-screen televisions, Brittany treated her wedding registry like The Price Is Right. She only included the most expensive and coveted items on her registry. Shady, much? I think so!
It wasn’t until Alyssa noticed a particularly strange item on Brittany’s registry that she finally realized the greedy game Brittany was trying to play.

Brittany’s Daunting Gift Demands

As Alyssa scanned Brittany’s copious amount of wedding registry items, there was one item that stood out to her in particular. Fancy china. You know, the kind of fine china grandmothers have on display in a cabinet and never use. Once Alyssa saw china on Brittany’s wedding registry, she was sent over the edge.
Why did Brittany need china? Well, the question should have been why didn’t she need china? Bridezilla Brittany never cooked for herself or her husband. The couple didn’t even have a kitchen table in their apartment. Moreover, there wasn’t enough storage space in the apartment to safely store the expensive china. At the end of the day, there was no way Alyssa was going to pay thirty-eight bucks for an overpriced salad bowl for anyone.
I don’t blame Alyssa, either! There was no reason Brittany needed expensive china on her wedding registry. How about we add a kitchen table to the registry instead?
Then, Alyssa began thinking. Why would Brittany put all of these expensive items on her registry in the first place? As mentioned, neither Brittany, her husband, nor her friend group was fancy or particularly high class. Then all of a sudden, realization struck Alyssa.
Brittany’s plan was to return the items she received from her wedding registry for cold hard cash.
I see you, Brittany! You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to scam your family and friends!
It was a genius plan, and it totally seemed like something Brittany would do. After all, Brittany was greedy, and all she truly cared about was money.
After contemplating her choices, Alyssa decided she needed to inconspicuously get back at Brittany’s greedy demands somehow. Luckily, another bridesmaid, Sarah, was on Alyssa’s side. Together, the duo teamed together to make Brittany’s wedding night unforgettable.

Grudge Gifting

Alyssa and Sarah begrudgingly went to Macy’s to purchase gifts from Brittany’s wedding registry. The catch? They would only purchase the most useless, cheap, and pointless kitchen items from Brittany’s wedding registry. This would soon turn into a practice Alyssa and Sarah lovingly coined, “grudge gifting.” Ten points for creativity, girls! I’m sure I have done some grudge gifting before, too. No shame in our game!
Alyssa and Sarah were able to track down every useless and ridiculous item on Brittany’s wedding registry and ensured they price-checked each item along the way. Special air-vented pizza pan for making cheap frozen pizzas extra crispy? Check! Countertop mini-cupcake maker in the shape of a cupcake? Yep, check! Countertop fajita maker shaped like a chili pepper? You got it!
The items on the registry were truly ridiculous, and Alyssa didn’t understand how other wedding-goers didn’t catch on to the scam bridezilla Brittany was running. I mean, who actually needed all of these odd little kitchen appliances? That’s right, nobody!
After shopping, Alyssa and Sarah accumulated a pile of gifts meant for garage sales. These were items people bought and used one time before tossing them out. However, the gifts were all fair game because they were all on Brittany’s registry. The duo purchased all of the gifts, which removed them from Macy’s wedding registry. Then, Alyssa and Sarah went to Walmart and Target, bought the same items at a cheaper price, and returned the items expensive items to Macy’s. This ensured the items on Macy’s wedding registry stayed checked off as “purchased,” and unsuspecting Brittany didn’t have a clue.
Now, Alyssa and Sarah just needed to patiently wait to give Brittany the wedding gifts. Soon enough, bridezilla Brittany would learn a valuable lesson about greed she would never forget.

Alyssa And Sarah’s Rightful Revenge

After Alyssa and Sarah purchased Brittany’s cheap gifts, they took the items home and wrapped them. They took their time carefully wrapping each gift beautifully so it looked like an expensive item was waiting to be opened on the inside. By the time Alyssa and Sarah finished wrapping gifts, they had two towering stacks of gorgeously wrapped junk fit for the garbage.
Before wrapping each gift, Alyssa and Sarah scraped the price tags off of each item. And, what was that? They forgot to attach the gift receipts, too? Oh, darn! Well, it shouldn’t matter. I mean, Brittany specifically requested these items, right?
The day of Brittany’s wedding arrived, and Alyssa and Sarah showed up and completed their bridesmaid duties. All of the wedding guests “ooohed” and “aahed” when the duo set their gorgeous towers of terrible gifts on the table.
After the wedding, Alyssa and Sarah changed into more comfortable clothing and shoved their unattractive navy blue garb into a secondhand donation bag. Then, they headed off to grab drinks to top off the bottles they wisely snuck into the venue. These girls sure know how to do a wedding the right way!
Two weeks later, Alyssa received a call from bridezilla Brittany. When Alyssa answered the phone, she immediately noticed Brittany sounded distressed.
Brittany frantically cried, “Do you know where the gift receipts are for all of my gifts? I thought I had all of them, weren’t they in there? I could have sworn I put them in the gift bags. Let me look around the house one more time.”
Little did Brittany know, she would never find the gift receipts! Too bad, so sad! No cash for you today, Brittany!
A couple of months later, Alyssa and Sarah received polite thank-you notes from Brittany for their gifts.
Shortly after receiving the thank-you notes, Brittany had a garage sale. Every single item Alyssa and Sarah purchased for her was out for sale, including a very dusty and neglected cupcake-shaped mini-cupcake maker.
All Alyssa could do was smile victoriously. What started as a calculated cash grab by bridezilla Brittany ended with Alyssa and Sarah having the last laugh.
