Some people show their true colors after a breakup and its not always pretty. In this piece, boyfriends share the most spiteful thing an ex did to them after a break up. The amount of pettiness and cruelty in peoples' actions is shocking.
Keep in mind, stories were edited for clarity.
Give Me My Son
“My ex filed a bogus restraining order not allowing me to see me my son who I was taking care of while she was at work. She wrote that I was going to kill her and then take him overseas. The court accepted the order.
Six months later, she called saying, ‘You need to start watching the baby again.’ I started watching my son again and then I asked her if my son could spend at least one night a week with me. I was retired from the police force due to an on the job injury, and so I had the benefit of spending time with my son. She flat out refused.
Long story short, after all the false allegations she made against me, false kidnapping reports having the police knock down my door and my son and I in shock, years of court proceedings and even though the courts and state social worker found her to a scorned woman and a rampant liar, they awarded her full custody.
It’s been five years, six months, and seven days since I last saw or spoke with him. I cannot see my son and he only lives 10 minutes away from me.”
Talk About A Crazy Ex
“She hunted down my next girlfriend on Facebook through mutual friends, told them they needed to meet because she was worried about the safety of my current girlfriend and needed to tell her some things about me.
My girlfriend at the time decided to meet up with her and broke up with me that night after my ex told her I used to beat her, that I was abusive, and that I slept around all the time. She even said that I’d cheated on my current girlfriend by sleeping with her (my ex) only a few weeks prior.
Not only did I lose my girlfriend at the time, but a lot of my friends heard all of this and avoided me like the plague. I lost a lot of people who I thought were good friends.
Then, the ex called me like a week later saying breaking up with me was the biggest mistake she ever made and that she wanted me back. It was all a ploy to get me single again…like…she thought I’d just take her right back since I was single.
I told my next girlfriend about her right away, explaining that I had a crazy ex. She said she was more appalled that my girlfriend at the time even agreed to meet her and that she would never listen to an ex over my word.
We’re getting married in a month.”
Taken Too Far
“My friend has never met his father. His mom moved them away when she caught him cheating when he was only 3 months old. His grandmother then proceeded to cut him out of all the family photos and my friend had literally never seen a picture of his father until he was 17 and his aunt gave him one that she found in her attic or something.
So now fast-forward a few years and my friend is dating a girl. Things got serious so she moved in. Apparently, she was a real creeper and just an odd girl so things didn’t work out between the two. After she moved out, she sent him a picture message on his phone of the picture and her holding a lighter to it. She burned the only freaking picture my friend had of his dad!”
Inconsiderate Acts Of Craziness
“My girlfriend of three years, who was living with me, hooked up with a guy at her company. I found out through some digging that they were sleeping together regularly from around the same time my mom passed away.
She was upset when I found out and kept me up all night before a new job. I went ballistic and told her she had to move out of the apartment. The next morning she attacked me, hid my work computer, and barricaded herself in the bathroom to prevent me from going to work. I kicked her out of the apartment but later felt bad and let her back into my life. I had bought a condo at this point and gave her a key. I even bought her a dog on Valentine’s Day and asked her to get engaged after a while, to which she said yes.
A few months later I found out she was banging another guy while I was at work, so I kicked her out of the condo, but I kept the dog. I later found out she had cheated on me numerous times over the three years. When she found out I knew about her shenanigans and wanted her gone she got violent. She attacked me physically, wrecking my condo, thew glasses at me, took a knife and threatened me (I had to physically restrain her from doing damage) then screamed for the police, who eventually came to the sound of her calling me an abuser.
Thank god the cops didn’t buy her stories. They removed her from my condo and I kept the dog.”
Burned On Site
“My first serious live-in girlfriend cheated on me with several of her past partners. I could never catch her doing it, but for a variety of reasons I knew. I was nuts about her though, and she lied like a politician. Finally, my best friend’s older brother nailed her, on purpose, to prove it (uh, yeah thanks for that, I guess). I packed up my stuff and left, peacefully.
But, I had forgotten to grab my art portfolio from behind the couch. I called her that afternoon and said I would be right down to get it. As I pulled into the driveway, she dropped the lit match onto the gasoline soaked pile of my entire life collection of artwork.
Never did another piece of artwork again.”
Scandalous Email Situation
“I broke up with my girlfriend in college, and she went crazy. She e-mailed my mother, who thinks I’m a wonderful Christian boy, very detailed accounts of some acts we tried in the bedroom, and also pictures of my genitals. She CC’d me.
But! Since I’m on the computer 100% of the time, I got the email right when she sent it. Since I set up my mom’s account, I knew her password, went in and deleted the message before she ever saw it. I also blocked all my ex-girlfriend’s email addresses at that time.
But oh, my heart was pounding”
Robbed and Clueless
“I dated a hot/crazy girl in high school. I thought that I would be super cool and take her out to my parents’ lake house. After we broke up a couple of weeks later, she and her boyfriend (whom she dated before, during, and after we were dating) rented a U-haul van and cleaned out the house of all the furniture. She even stole my 8-year-old little sister’s bunk bed. The only thing left was the fridge because they couldn’t get it through the door.
My dad found the house trashed and was angry. We didn’t find this out until a couple of years later when her boyfriend messed up and got caught. He admitted to stealing our stuff since the cops were able to match the serial numbers on the washer and dryer. I knew something was up when she called me up around Thanksgiving before we got the news about her boyfriend that she really loved me and really missed me. Stupid me thought this girl was coming around, and we would get back and life would be great. Two weeks later I was giving my report to a detective, and she is now in jail.”
Left With Nothing
“I got messed up by both my ex, and my $5,000 divorce lawyer.
We had an agreement that she did not want anything from me, except $1,000/mo in child support. I said OK, and we left it at that, waiting for the court date where her lawyer was supposed to bring our agreement to the judge.
Anyway, I show up in court with my lawyer, we go in front of the judge, and her lawyer goes: ‘We want child support, alimony, we want the husband to pay the remainder of the car loan (three years) on her car and then transfer the car to her name, and we also want the husband to pay for my services, because he was the one who filed for divorce, which forced his wife to borrow $5,000 from her parents to pay for my services.’
Judge goes: ‘Sounds good. We are done.’
Meanwhile, my lawyer did not open his mouth or looked up from whatever he was reading during the entire court session. And this guy had audacity to mail me a card later, congratulating me on the positive outcome of my divorce case.
So for the next year I paid 75% of what I made (automatically taken out of my paycheck after tax), leaving me with nothing. I had to sell my car, move out of my apartment, and couch-surf for a while.
The day my ex received her last alimony check (we were only married for two years, so I paid alimony for a half of that) she married my former best friend, which was why I filed for divorce in the first place.
It took me five more years to pay off her car and her lawyer, so now I only have seven years of child support left, even though the kid spends five days a week with me.
She is currently on husband #4″
She Ruined Me
“First, we planned a month-long vacation to New Zealand, California, and Hawaii using my airline points. Shortly after this, I got hired by an awesome company, so I quit my old job and took a month off between the two.
At the beginning of this time off, we decided that it was stupid to have two houses, and we’d move in together. Her place was more suited for us, so we worked together to stage mine to sell. Every step of the process, she helped and was there even for the actual offer presentation. I asked before signing if everything was still ok, and she was really looking forward to me move in. It was to be a short closing, only 5 weeks from this point.
To start my new job, I had to do a three-week trip away at the company HQ. A week into this, and only four weeks from my loss of my house, she called me and told me (without any emotion) to ‘find someplace else to live.’ I asked what about our relationship, and she said, ‘Well, I have fun with you.’ I told her to buzz off.
I returned from that trip and moved into a friend’s place, sleeping on his couch with my stuff in storage. I had to pick my stuff up from her house, which she packed up and put into boxes. She left a key under her mat for her garage, and purposely wasn’t home when I came. I learned a week later that was because she was already dating someone (I suspect I was being cheated on), and she basically moved me out of the way.
She broke my heart, left me homeless, and completely messed me up. It took me six months to get back on my feet after her mess up, when unfortunately, I was watching a YouTube video for a mountain bike race I normally go to, but missed this year, to see her get proposed to by this guy. I haven’t been able to date anyone since.”
Sneaky Planning
“I was in the process of a divorce. Not yet finalized. I was divorcing because of ex’s cheating. There is this somewhat vague, unclear rule that if I were to do it with her during this time it could constitute as a reconciliation.
In any case, ex is still living in the apartment with me. I get home from work, and she starts to seduce me. To me this seems pretty weird as she hasn’t wanted to do anything sensual with me for months. I know I shouldn’t do this, but she stripped down to nothing and gets really physical by trying to push me into the bedroom and pull my clothes off. I think for a minute contemplating what I should do. Fortunately, I decide to walk out of the apartment. When I open the door, one of her friends was standing right there with a camera.
The plan was to get me in the bedroom and then have this friend film us (without my knowledge) so that she could say we reconciled (using video evidence) and could then be entitled to alimony.”
A Long Line Of Connections
“Well, I had a girlfriend who was an addict of sorts. I tried to stick through it, as she was more of a binge drinker and not an every-single-day type.
We were together for a while. For some ungodly reason, I decided to get an apartment with this girl. I guess I mostly I felt bad her 6-year-old daughter had to sleep on the couch of my one bedroom apartment and didn’t have a room of her own. We decided on a really nice two-bedroom apartment. Since I made more money, I laid down all the deposits and application fees.
Moving weekend quickly approached, coincidentally she just happened to have a flight to California planned for her aunt’s birthday. So I was to pack, move, and unpack everything myself while she was gone. All while taking care of her child. Fair enough, it was her aunt’s birthday after all. She had this planned before we picked out an apartment (this statement will be important later on).
So she leaves, I start packing. Literally hours before I go to move I get a call from a friend.
She stayed with her friend Sally in California. Sally used to live where we do, and had a friend Sue, who still lives here. Sue’s best friend is John. John’s boyfriend Joe happened to work with me.
Ok, Sally told Sue that my ex flew out to California to meet with a dude and was totally banging him, not knowing of Sue’s connection back to me. Sue told John, who told Joe, who told me. Literally hours before I was supposed to move our stuff and her child into an apartment.
I called and confronted her. She admitted to it. Relationship ended. Also, remember she had this planned BEFORE we even decided to move in together. I asked why even move in with me. She said I provided her with a comfortable lifestyle, and she was moving in with me to save money and leave me to go live that guy in Cali once she got all her money saved.
She had left me a check with half her part of move-in costs, which she promptly put a stop-payment on. Oh, and deposits/application fees are nonrefundable with new apartments. I couldn’t have afforded it all alone, So I had to find a new place.
Since I already had her stuff packed, I took it and her daughter to her mom’s.
I had to scramble to find a new apartment with short notice, plus somehow come up with new deposits and first month rent for the new place. All in two days notice. Out that money, and about $700 she stiffed me on.”
False Accusations Get Turned Down
“My ex-wife cheated on me with this guy we call Kyle. Kyle and I had been friends for a very long time. I couldn’t really prove anything, i just had the feeling. Every time I walked into the bedroom (where she usually sits with her laptop) she would switch tabs.
So, I take advantage of my inner tech nerd side. I installed a Keylogger on her computer, so I could get to her mail. I find out she has been messaging Kyle, and meeting up with him a lot! They also described the ‘things they had done together’ in the messages. I downloaded them all into a USB drive, for later.
I decide not to pull anything yet, since I’m still not completely sure when and where they are meeting up. One day, my ex-wife tells me she’s gonna work overtime that night, and might spend the night there (suspicious huh?).
I log onto her e-mail, and guess what. She’s gonna meet with Kyle for a Movie-Dinner-The Dirty-The whole shebang. I copied that too, because in that message, they described how its easy to cheat on me, and how I’m not suspecting anything.
Fast Forward Two weeks: My ex-wife files for divorce. She gets a lawyer, tries to get custody over our dog, tries to get our house, the whole thing. I get a lawyer too, and show him the e-mails.
Just being rude, I decide to show her the e-mails. Just so I can rub it in her face. I copied it onto another USB, which she later stole. I still have the original one though. She deletes all of her e-mails, and thinks she’s got this lawsuit in the bag.
Apparently, she got mad at me for showing her the e-mails, so now she also accused me for physical abuse. Her lawyer tries to find evidence for it, fails. Just shows some random stuff that ‘might have something to do with it.’
The Judge (idiot) apparently starts to go on her side. My lawyer and I show everyone the e-mails. The look on her face was priceless, when the judge tells her that he had read them.
I get custody over the dog, I get the house, and all her stuff. She ends up living at Kyle’s gross apartment. Two years later, Kyle dies.”
The Girl Who Cried Pregnancy
“I had a girlfriend who copied all of my phone numbers and email addresses out of my phone and computer before I had her evicted from my house. She called and emailed everyone I know, including family members and co-workers, and told them all that I had gotten her pregnant and then physically assaulted her after finding out. Then she posted pictures on Facebook of her with something stuffed inside a sweatshirt to make it appear as tho she were pregnant. ALSO, she would call me at all hours of the night saying that she was coming over ‘to talk’ and I finally just said ‘come over then. I don’t care. I’m not going to unlock the door.’
She replied, ‘I can come any time I want, I have the key.’
Me: ‘I changed the locks.’
Her: ‘No you didn’t. I was at your house this afternoon while you were at work.’
She had stolen my camera, two of my motorcycle helmets, and other motorcycle gear. She also threatened to come over while I was gone and push my motorcycle over onto the ground and smash all the windows on my car. “
Rehab Debt
“My ex is a physician and an addict, so she can manipulate with the best of them. When we decided to split, it was quite clear who was in the wrong, and we agreed that the debt she had accumulated through her multiple tours in rehab (well north of $100K) would stay with her. We didn’t have any children, or any joint property to cause any fits over, so the divorce seemed pretty straight forward.
She got a lawyer to help push it through, and I was going to try to not get one of my own to save costs (obvious mistake). I was supposed to go to her attorney’s office to sign some paperwork, but was having trouble reaching someone at the office to make a time to stop by. Her lawyer emailed her that day saying that he hadn’t heard from me yet, and she forwarded this email to me, without realizing that she was forwarding me the entire email chain that she had with her counsel. Oops!
In the email, she very clearly stated that she wanted to slap me with the rehab debt, stating that I was ‘complicit in her use of substances.’ Needless to say, I went pretty crazy, and immediately hired the most cutthroat lawyer I could find in the area. My lawyer was awesome (and cheap), and he routinely put her in her proper place.”
Vicious Lies Lead To Destruction
“My ex called and told my work I was going to kill everyone there. She also said I was on antidepressants, and I was not. It was my day off and the whole swat team showed up at my house. I opened the garage door and was swarmed by swat with weapons in my face. They put in me in a detention center for mental evaluations based on her lie.
I spent three days locked in the hospital. While I was in there she moved her boyfriend in and got an injunction claiming I was insane. She then sold most of my stuff on Craigslist and took 20 grand from my savings. It took six months to clear this up and prove she is a liar. Six months this dude lived in my house, used my stuff, and even rode my motorcycle. They would not let me get anything only clothing from the house.
I adopted my daughter from my brother and have been paying $700 a month in child support for a child that we both adopted. I have her three days a week now my ex is going for full custody. I recently pulled everything out of my 401k and have two lawyers working my case and going for custody of my kid. I also filed a suit for slander for the things she said about me.”
