
The researchers are careful to point out that this correlation doesn’t necessarily prove that chocolate improves cardiovascular health, but it’s a start. Scientists are now studying the effects of polyphenols (compounds in cocoa beans) to see if they might be a possible source of benefits of chocolate consumption. They are developing a capsule delivery method for the polyphenols, which sounds like it would take all the fun out of it, so we’ll stick to eating chocolate, and we recommend you too. Only in moderation though!
