Fall rolls around and we start craving apple pie, warm soups and pumpkin spice lattes. But, you can’t forget, with fall comes one of the best candied treat, caramel apples. Whether coated in chopped nuts or your favorite candy, caramel apples are a must in the fall! They can be a hassle though. With a large apple and sticky caramel it can be hard to bite into, but cutting it up just gets rid of the fun. Now you can have your caramel apple fix in mini bite-sized form.
To make mini caramel apples you’ll need a few large apples, caramels, milk, lollipop sticks, a small metal ice cream scooper and whatever toppings you love. Peel the apples and use the metal scooper to scoop mini balls out of the apples. Push lollipop sticks in each apple and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Keep cool in the fridge while you make the caramel. Melt the caramel on the stove with 2 tablespoons of milk. Take the mini apples out and pat dry with a paper towel. Dip each apple into the sticky caramel and then into your favorite topping and place back on the cookie sheet. Pop in the freezer for the caramel to harden and enjoy!
