With football season in full swing, your Sundays are sure to be filled with men who won't get off the couch for anything, food that warms your soul and football games that test your nerves. Sure chicken wings and chili are excellent tailgate foods, but this recipe that uses bacon and Alfredo sauce is sure to be a touchdown with your friends and family.
Made with wonton wrappers, these bite-sized cups offer a unique crunch and a whole lot of flavor with bacon, cheese and Alfredo sauce. To make this recipe you will need one package of wonton wrappers, eight ounces of Neufchatel cheese, one jar of Alfredo pasta sauce, two cups mozzarella cheese, one package of bacon and olive oil.
These gooey, cheese filled cups are made by first frying the bacon and preheating the oven to 400 degrees. Brush two wonton wrappers with olive oil and stack them on top of each other with all edges of both wrappers showing. Place the wonton wrappers into a muffin tin and repeat until the tin is full. Mix together in a saucepan on low heat the Neufchatel cheese, Alfredo pasta sauce and mozzarella cheese until fully combined. Next, fold in half of your cooked bacon. Spoon one to two tablespoons of the cheese mixture into each of the wontons. Top with the remaining bacon and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until the wontons are crispy and the cheese is bubbling.
We are definitely going to have to make things at our next tailgate! They look delicious!
