Meeting The Newly Weds
When two people embark on their honeymoon, it’s assumed it will be a peaceful and beautiful trip for the newlyweds. After all, is there any better way to celebrate a marriage than taking a memorable trip? That’s exactly what Reddit user, ‘Alex,’ thought when he and his wife, ‘Olivia,’ scheduled a trip to a campground at the base of a mountain for their honeymoon.
The couple had a memorable trip but not the way they expected.

Going To Their Destination
There was only one place Alex and Olivia wanted to visit for their honeymoon, and that was a mountainside campground. The pair had spent most of their 12-year relationship outdoors, so they packed up their car and, with their dogs in tow, headed across the country to begin their marriage.
Fast-forward to a couple of days into their adventure, and the couple was enjoying themselves. All signs pointed to having the perfect honeymoon so far; they were enjoying the campsite, got the opportunity to enjoy some gorgeous trails, and had met quite a few campers.
Unfortunately, this included meeting ‘Rachel.’

Rachel’s First Appearance
The incident in question came on the fifth day of their stay; Alex and Olivia were outside enjoying a couple of drinks, with their dogs dozing at their feet. Suddenly, a voice rang out of nowhere.
“Can I pet your dog?” Rachel inquired.
Surprised at her sudden appearance, and noticing how worked up his now-awake dogs were, Alex politely declined her request. Instead of leaving and respecting Alex’s answer, Rachel proceeded to stand at the edge of the campsite. She wasn’t looking at them, or anything in particular, she just stood there. Rachel was jarred out of this trance when Alex asked if she needed anything else and she quickly walked back to her campsite.
Seeing how upset the dogs were was definitely a huge red flag in hindsight, considering dogs are incredibly good judges of character.
Alex and Olivia watched in disbelief as Rachel approached the campsite, and instead of going into the tent that was already set up, she began to set up her own tent. Confused by her behavior, Alex and Olivia went back to enjoying their evening.
They tried to put Rachel out of their minds but were forced to think about her the next day.

An Uncomfortable Encounter
As Alex headed to the showers the next morning, he passed by Rachel’s tent. Her tent was open, and she was engrossed in a book. When Alex was finished with his shower and was on his way back to his campsite, Alex noticed the tent was now closed.
However, as he passed Rachel’s tent, the flap begins to unzip, revealing Rachel completely undressed.
“She positioned herself just inside the tent at the door and let out this over the top full-body stretch, and held her arms way up the sky while pushing her chest forward like it was some kind of mating ritual designed just for me,” Alex recalled. “While she does this she let out what I only describe as a suggestive moan. It was pretty obvious she was putting on a show for me.”
Doing this was both bold and rude; Rachel had clearly seen Alex earlier with his wife, and exposing him to something like that without his consent is just absolutely disgusting and horrific.
As wild as this encounter was, it does bring one question to mind; what would have happened if it was a man instead of a woman? What if Olivia had been the one to walk past the tent and had a man expose himself to her? There’s a good chance things might not have ended well for him.

Trying To Enjoy Their Day
Startled by what he just saw, Alex quickly returned to his campsite to tell Olivia of the weird events that just unfolded. Laughing it off (or, as much as they could), the two began to prepare for the day’s hike.
Early into their hike, the couple stopped to take in the scenic view. As Olivia was busy snapping photos, Alex noticed a figure emerging from the trail.
It was Rachel, and at first, Alex didn’t find this to be out of the ordinary.
“At first I thought, Ok coincidence, she’s staying here and this is a pretty common trail,” Alex said. “But then she sees that I see her and she stops dead in her tracks and just stands there. Same demeanor as our first encounter. Just standing, not doing anything in particular but also sending creep vibes our way.”
Seeing how unnerved their dogs were by her sudden appearance, Alex and Olivia decided to take a break and let her pass them. She was freaking out their dogs, and who wants to be followed around when trying to enjoy a nice hike?
Expect, when they stopped, so did Rachel. She just stood there, watching them.
This was now on horror-movie level of creepy. What did she want from them?
Now completely creeped out, Alex and Olivia decided to cut their hike short and head back to their campsite. Luckily, they didn’t run into Rachel again, until later that night.

Girl’s Night Out
Later that evening, Olivia decided to take a shower. While she was in the bathrooms, she noticed Rachel was there, but this time with two other girls. They seemed to be getting ready for an evening out on the town, but Olivia could sense something wasn’t right.
It was clear as day the two girls were close friends, but Rachel wasn’t and was desperately trying to tag along. The trio had plans to meet at a restaurant before heading off to the bars, but Olivia knew for a fact the restaurant had already closed for the evening. So, what was their goal here? To just flat out ditch Rachel? As awkward as she was, it’s never nice to ditch someone on purpose.
After solidifying their plans, Rachel returned to her tent. When the girls started to make fun of Rachel, Olivia stepped in to defend her. As creepy as Rachel was, no one deserves to be bullied behind their back.
However, the girls had a seemingly good reason for doing so.

A Scream In The Middle Of The Night
The two girls had no idea who Rachel was. When they returned to their campsite one evening, Rachel had set up her tent in a corner of their campsite. Despite their best efforts to make her uncomfortable and unwelcome, she had not taken the hint. So, Alex and Olivia weren’t the only objects of Rachel’s creepy obsession. She seemed to be latching on to any and everyone she could.
Upon returning to their campsite and relaying the story to her husband, Alex and Olivia wondered what went on with the fake dinner and clubbing plans. Unfortunately, that would remain a mystery (or maybe, fortunately, because that meant they didn’t have to interact with Rachel for a little bit). They were settling down for the evening when out of nowhere, they heard a bloodcurdling scream.
At first, Alex thought it was a wild animal. What else could have made such a disturbing and creepy sound? But when he pulled back the curtain, he was met with the sight of Rachel.
“She was standing motionless on the path outside our trailer. I had the window cover down maybe 8-10 centimeters when she appears to make direct eye contact with me,” Alex recalled of the creepy encounter. “My heart rate was jacked. After gazing in my general direction for what seemed like an eternity, she calmly turns around and walks to her tent.”

Even Their Friends Were Afraid
Trying to put the weirdness that was last night out of their minds, Alex and Olivia got ready to meet up with some friends, ‘Hannah’ and ‘Jack’. Not even fifteen minutes after their friends arrived, Rachel was at their campsite. She attempted to make conversation with Hannah and Jack, even going so far as to grab their tent supplies and set it up for them. Usually, this would be a really nice gesture; but not if it’s coming from a total stranger determined to include herself in private plans.
Creeped out, Jack asked for his tool kit back. Rachel gave him one of her classic unnerving stares, but this time she was holding a hammer. Once again, the question is raised- how would they have reacted if Rachel was a man? Seeing a man holding a hammer with a creepy gaze would definitely put most people on edge. Would they even have gone so far as to use excessive force to defend themselves?
Eventually, Rachel drops the potential weapon and runs off.
After Alex and Olivia explained their uncomfortable encounters with her, Hannah and Jack agreed to watch out for her.
Like a moth drawn to a flame, Rachel returned later that night. This time, however, with an odd request.

She Wanted To Hang Out With Them
“Hey, you guys seem to have a lot of extra room with the tent and the camper, do you think I could stay with you guys tonight? We could have a lot of fun in there together,” Rachel proposed.
No one really knew how to answer her, until Jack chimed in, “Did you just propose to sleep with all us?”
If you’re going to be dealing with someone harassing you and your friends all night, might as well have some fun with it!
With a big smile on her face, Rachel turned to Alex and said, “I like your friend!” She then turned around and walked off into the dark of the night. Apparently, she did not understand the sarcastic nature of Jack’s comment.
Trying to ignore the weirdness that had just occurred, the group decided to get ready for bed. As they walked towards the bathrooms, they were greeted by the startling sight of Rachel’s tent.

Where Did She Go?
It looked like the place had been ransacked by a bear.
“Just stuff, garbage, clothing, food. Everywhere,” Alex described.
The weirdest thing of all was Rachel’s tent was gone. She finally got the hint to leave, but a little too late. Alex alerted a patrolling park official about the mess and shared his theory Rachel was squatting on the site based on Olivia’s interaction with the two girls in the bathroom.
Out of sight, out of mind, right? Alex and Olivia hoped they wouldn’t run into Rachel again, and they were granted a few Rachel-free days. Finally, they got a chance to enjoy their honeymoon. But their peace was broken on the last day of their vacation.

One Last Encounter
Wanting to soak up the last few hours of their honeymoon, the couple headed up to a beautiful lookout point. As Olivia was snapping photos, her attention was drawn to a woman standing in the woods, seemingly watching them. It turned out to be none other than Rachel. Apparently, Alex and Olivia couldn’t have a moment to themselves.
Walking up the mountain, Rachel silently takes a seat on a nearby boulder. No words were exchanged between the three, just silence. Which, in a way, is a little more unnerving than if a conversation did take place. Taking in one last look of the gorgeous view, Alex and Olivia silently began their descend back to their campsite.
They began to pack up their belongings and head back home, leaving the stunning mountains and Rachel in their rearview mirror.
