Social media continues to connect people all around the world. Many businesses, groups, and individuals use this public domain as a way to broadcast all of their opinions, ideas, and the like. For these people, social media was used as an outlet to air some grievances against people who have wronged them. Do you think they went a little to far at all?
Can’t Keep It In The Lines?

“I used to work for a wine distributing company located just outside of Denver, Colorado. The building was rather nice, and the parking lot had just been paved over when I started working there. Therefore, you’d think it would be easy for all of us to park properly so that all sixty of us can fit in the parking lot.
A few months after I started, a new woman named Monica was hired in my department. At first she was very shy, but over time, we managed to get her out of her shell. She was a very charismatic young lady, but couldn’t park to save her life. Each time I pulled into the parking lot and saw her car, her tires were so far over the line that she was taking up two full parking spots! She also parked extremely crooked to the point that nobody felt safe parking next to her out of fear of having their car dinged on the way out.
Because parking is already limited, Monica’s little habit was starting to effect other employees that needed to park in that assigned area. If some unlucky worker caught themselves pulling into the parking lot too late, they would have to park on the opposite side of the lot then walk to their department. It wasn’t a huge inconvenience, but before Monica, the parking lot was never an issue.
Security guards issued warning after warning by putting up fliers both inside and outside the building. I will never understand why they couldn’t just confront Monica directly, but it was getting ridiculously out of hand.
One morning I managed to pull into the parking lot with Monica at the same time. I claimed my normal spot a few spaces away from the front doors. Monica pulled in right next to me. Her car was so close to mine, I literally got out and waved my hand to get her attention. She happily rolled down her window thinking I was going wanted to make small talk. When I asked her to straighten up her car, her smile quickly faded before she slammed the car in reverse, jutted out, then parked extremely close to the other car that was next to her.
I was going to let it go, but later that same day, Monica left to go to lunch. When she came back, she parked her car the exact same way next to mine, making it almost impossible to open the driver’s door. Annoyed, I took a few steps back and took a picture. Over the next several days, I kept taking pictures of Monica’s horrible parking skills. By the end of the week, I had enough ‘evidence’ to get my point across. On a Friday afternoon, I crossed out Monica’s license plate, and posted all the pictures in our company group chat. Everyone knew Monica’s car right away, but it was the caption I made that sold it.
‘It’s hard to believe that adults can’t keep it in the lines.’
It was an anonymous post, but boy did it blow up. Monica must have been embarrassed, because the next day, she parked EXTREMELY far away from everyone. As the parking lot filled up, we were surprised when someone shared that Monica parked like she had a driver’s license for once. I felt sort of bad for what I did, especially when Monica stopped joining us for coffee and interacting with office shenanigans. Eventually, Monica went away on maternity leave but never came back.
We didn’t send her anything.”
Always Two Sides

“I own and manage my own bakery that specializes in wedding cakes. A few years back, my cousin reached out to me and announced her engagement and upcoming wedding ceremony. I hadn’t spoken to her in years, but I was still just as excited for her and offered a discount right away for my services.
Keep in mind that all of this took place via text. My cousin made it well know that she didn’t have a lot of money but still wanted something ‘nice’. She told me how many people were coming, what flavors she was thinking about, color schemes, etc. Once we finished going over everything, I quoted her a price based off of what she was looking for. The main reason why the price I quoted her was still pretty high was because she lived several counties over and I do charge a separate fee for delivery due to the effort it takes to safely transport the cake as well as gas expenses. (We live in California with the most expensive gas prices.)
Well, my cousin made it very well known that she was not a fan of the price. She kept asking me about the familial discount and even mentioned how I made a wedding cake for my sister. That’s when I explained that my sister actually paid much more for her cake because her wedding venue and guest list was bigger which meant more cake.
Right away, the text conversation went downhill. My cousin then started accusing me of wanting to see her ‘big day fail’ and then made a comment suggesting that I should just work with her because my business isn’t even that popular and I need the cash. That’s when I reminded her that she was the one hassling me about the price. We went back and forth for a while before I deliberately got slower with my responses. Eventually my cousin took the hint and stopped texting me. I thought the ordeal was over, but a few days later, I got a text from my sister telling my to check my social media page for the business.
Apparently my cousin took it upon herself to leave a nasty review on my business, (she didn’t even bother hiding her name) and made a public facebook post describing how ‘rude’ I was when she tried to order a cake for her wedding. Now I was pissed. If she wanted to play games, I can play them too.
I took screenshots of the entire conversation then decided to blast HER on social media. I still blocked out her phone number and such, but boy was it satisfying to see the reactions of everyone.
‘There’s always two sides to the story,’ said one of my uncles.
‘Talk about desperate!’ said one of my loyal customers.
‘Someone put the bridezilla back in her cage!’ said another relative.
Seeing the friction she was getting, my cousin deleted her initial post but kept her negative review about my bakery. It didn’t matter because by her little online tirade, I had a mini uptick in business that lasted for months.
Years later and I’m about to open my second location soon.
My cousin just filed for divorce.”
Every Move You Make

“You know how they say you should never date your coworkers? Well I was young and dumb when I asked out my office crush almost a decade ago. She was cute and was just a pure joy to be around. I honestly thought I was going to marry her.
There weren’t any rules about dating each other. We were on the same team for a while, but once I got promoted, my ex had to be moved to a different division simply because it was too ‘weird’ as my old supervisor put it. Anyway, we moved into a humble apartment together and our relationship got more serious. Unfortunately, that all came to a screeching halt when I found out she was cheating on me. With multiple men on top of that. Her infidelity came to light when she never came back from her lunch break claiming to be ‘sick.’ I only found out about it when came to visit her division and saw that she wasn’t there and one of her girlfriends told me.
Alarmed, I rushed home to see if she was okay and walked in on her making out with one of her flings. It was pretty awful for the next several days after that. She moved out the same day and didn’t seem to be very guilty about anything. I on the other hand was so hurt that I couldn’t find anything to say. At work I found every reason not to go near her desk.
One day I over heard her talking to one of her friends about how I never contributed anything to relationship, I was a bad listener, blah blah blah. All I heard were excuses to go behind my back. Her other accusations were just lies. Having heard enough, I took matters into my own hands. What my ex didn’t realize was that I had been monitoring each time she clocked out and checked her social media for proof that she was calling in ‘sick’ to see her flings.
Now I know you’re thinking that’s creepy, but as a scheduler, it’s just part of my job. What wasn’t part of my job, was composing an elaborate email with screenshots of my ex’s time card, day’s called out, and her social media posts during those times. Out of spite, I anonymously forwarded the email to our hirer ups using an encrypted account. I’m pretty tech savvy and I’m still so proud of myself for pulling this off.
In the end, my ex was fired.
This was a very long time ago. Sometimes I see things that remind me of her, then I flush the toilet.”
