A fitness and lifestyle influencer tearfully fled from a grocery store after another customer rejected her offer to pay their grocery bill.

Amelia Goldsmith, aka “Milly G,” set out to do a good deed and filmed herself approaching strangers in a supermarket. In a video posted to TikTok, she offered to pay for their groceries to, “cheer someone up.” However, each customer she approached denied her request.

in hindsight i can see why people can react differently to this, but my intentions were purely to brighten up someones day💕 i’m still super happy with what I ended up doing and i’ll do more of it for sure #storytime #vlog #makesomeonesday #foodshop

In the now-viral video, Goldsmith nervously approached the first shopper and said, “Excuse me, this may be really random, but I’d love to pay for your food shop today.”

“No, no, no,” the man, who according to Goldsmith, “looked angry” replied, “I really don’t need it.”

Defeated, Goldsmith attempted to pay for another shopper’s bill.

“There’s a lot more deserving people in the world,” the shopper humbly replied, “I feel too guilty for taking it.”

Not able to rest until a good deed was completed, Goldsmith then purchased pasta and various jars of sauces to give to the grocery store’s food bank.

“Oh my god, that was stressful,” Goldsmith told the camera after exiting the store.

“I felt really like in panic mode,” she confessed, “I was expecting the first person to be like, you know, overjoyed and grateful and happy for me to pay for their shopping.”

Goldsmith finished the video, explaining, “That was like a big challenge for me as well. I just find sort of social situations really quite hard.”

Goldsmith pondered the outcome of her attempted kind act in the video’s description box, “In hindsight, I can see why people can react differently to this, but my intentions were purely to brighten up someone’s day? I’m still super happy with what I ended up doing and I’ll do more of it for sure.”

In the now-disabled comment section of Goldsmith’s video, other TikTok users claimed the influencer picked the wrong supermarket to pay for a stranger’s groceries.

According to Indy100, someone commented, “You need to go to a cheaper supermarket like Aldi or Lidl. People who shop in Sainsbury’s can afford it [groceries].

If one thing is certain—Millie is an absolute sweetheart, and she can pick up my grocery bill any day.
