    Instructions

    Step #1: Balanced Batter

One important trick to perfect pancakes is to mix the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients separately, then combine; this keeps your mix from getting too clumpy. Add the flour, sugars, salt, and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Whisk until combined. A combination of white granulated sugar and brown sugar keeps the mix moist and sweet.

    Step #2: Flavor + Fluff

Warm the milk for 15 seconds in a microwave. Add it to the butter, egg, club soda, and vanilla bean paste. Whisk until combined. Vanilla subtly flavors your pancake base, while club soda adds extra fluffiness.

    Step #3: Cautious Combining

Heat skillet or griddle to medium heat. You’ll know it’s ready when drops of water sizzle and disappear quickly. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients, carefully whisking until smooth without over-beating it. Use stick of butter to coat skillet or griddle for extra flavor.

    Step #4: Perfect Pancakes

Scoop about ¼ cup of finished batter for each pancake. Cook for two minutes, then flip and cook for 1-2 more until golden brown. Remove from heat and set aside. Between each round of pancakes, re-coat skillet with more butter so they don’t stick.

    Step #5: Beautiful Breakfast

Serve immediately, topped with more butter and warmed maple syrup. For other flavor combinations, check out our recipe for Blueberry Pancakes and Cinnamon Bun Pancakes!
