TikTok has become the go-to place to find the hottest food trends, and we’re absolutely here for it. Now that we’ve finally mastered that feta pasta recipe, we’ve been on the hunt for new culinary ideas.

Some of our favorites have been those creative low-carb recipes that add more fruits and veggies to our daily diet. We’re looking at you, Bell Pepper Nachos and Blueberry Cookies!

Now, what’s recently caught our eye is a fun and delicious way to mix up our breakfast routine. We love this latest egg hack—the inside out omelet

Food blogger and TikTok superstar Yumna Jawad of Feel Good Foodie says the key to a delicious omelet is to turn it inside out.

“Start with some shredded cheese on a heated skillet,” Jawad explains in the how-to video for the Inside Out Omelet. “Add two whisked eggs right on top. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs, then fold it over and look how crispy that looks!”

In the clip, Jawad garnishes the omelet with more fresh herbs and pairs it with some sliced avocado and roasted grape tomatoes. After taking a bite, Jawad makes it clear that this style of omelet is “so good.” But that’s not the only way to do it.

    The Possibilities Are Endless

One of the best things about omelets is their versatility. If you search #insideoutomelet on TikTok, you’ll see some adding chopped bacon or mushrooms as the filling. Others get super creative and add toppings like plain Greek yogurt, hot sauce, or salsa.

For a successful Inside Out Omelet, use a super-slick nonstick pan so the cheese won’t get stuck. You’ll also need to let the cheese cook on its own for a bit before adding the eggs. This isn’t a situation where you “fold in the cheese” a la David and Moira Rose.

You also don’t want the eggs mixing in with the cheese. Otherwise, you won’t get that crunchy, cheesy coating. After the cheese melts, pour the eggs on top before it starts to darken. Add your seasonings and toppings, then voila! The perfect addition to your weekend brunch.
