    Pecan Pie Brownies

    Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 1 box family size brownie mix, plus ingredients

    Supplies

    Directions

    1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside.

    2. In a large bowl, prepare the brownie mix according to the directions on the back of the box. Stir until well combined using a hand mixer or wooden spoon. Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for ONLY 15 minutes.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
    • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    • 2 cups pecans, chopped

    Supplies

    Directions

    1. In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, light corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk continuously over medium-high heat until the mixture becomes somewhat thick and coats the back of a spoon, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans.

    2. Remove the half baked brownies from the oven. Pour the pecan pie filling over the brownies, covering them completely. Bake the brownies with the pecan pie topping for an additional 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees. The filling will appear gel-like and will jiggle slightly. Brownies will harden as they cool.

    3. Allow the pecan brownies to cool before slicing. Serve warm or cool—store covered pecan brownies at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to five days.
