Many of us have streamed an absurd amount of TV shows and movies this past year (no judgment). Being stuck at home, we frankly don’t have many other options.

The result is that, at times, we’ve found ourselves feeling like we’ve run out of things we want to watch on our streaming platforms. For some, that’s meant looking for other streaming services to mix up the content we have access to.

If you’re on the hunt for a new streaming platform, Paramount+ just might be the way to go. It just debuted earlier this year, and it’s already looking promising and filled to the brim with watchable, bingeable, entertaining content.

    What Is Paramount+?

Paramount+ is the baby of ViacomCBS, a mass media conglomerate that resulted from the merger of Viacom and CBS. It includes four main units: CBS Entertainment Group (including CBS News), Domestic Media Networks (including MTV, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central), International Networks (including some international news stations), and Global Distribution Group. So, this is where a lot of Paramount+ offerings come in.

Paramount+ is a rebrand of CBS All Access, so it includes all the shows and movies that were previously available on that platform. It features series from the above ViacomCBS networks, including the popular Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and the first 10 seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race on MTV. Unlike many streaming services, Paramount+ also offers access to lots of news and many different sporting events throughout the year.

So, depending on your interests and tastes, it could be more fitting than just about any other streaming service.

What TV Shows Are Available on Paramount+?

There are too many shows available on Paramount+ to name them all in one article, but there are some standouts that are particularly well-known and might on their own be worth the affordable subscription ($5.99+/month).

For one, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is available on the platform. Stream it and/or watch previous episodes. Colbert’s show is just about the hottest show on late night—and for good reason.

If you’re into reality TV, Jersey Shore is on Paramount+. So, if you’re a big fan, you can go back and rewatch all the episodes. Or, if you’ve never seen it before, now’s your chance to GTL!

Speaking of reality TV, the most classic of all classic reality TV shows is available: Survivor. Binge the entire catalog of Survivor episodes, going back the full 40 seasons. Entertain yourself with the always charming host Jeff Probst, as well as watching-grown-adults-try-to-make-it-on-a-desert-island (or another equally hostile environment), which is always fun.

The funny and endearing ’90s and early 2000s sitcom Frasier is another option available on Paramount+. Though some time has passed since this show was in its prime, it’s still thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

The fantastic 60 Minutes is also on Paramount+, as are excellent sports options such as the NFL, March Madness, and All-Access Hockey.

What Movies Are Available on Paramount+?

Paramount+ has plenty of movies to choose from, and there’s a wide range of options, depending on your taste.

Watch the original 1969 version of The Italian Job starring a young Michael Caine. This cult classic caper has it all: action, comedy, and drama.

We can’t talk about the movies available on Paramount+ without mentioning The Godfather. Not only does the platform have the first installment of this classic to watch, but it also has The Godfather Part II and The Godfather Coda (The Godfather Part III). With the whole trilogy available, it might be time for a weekend Godfather marathon to get us through these stuck-at-home months.

If you’re a fan of documentaries, there are plenty to choose from. Paramount+ has nature documentaries, history documentaries, cultural documentaries, music documentaries, and more. We promise you won’t run out of things to watch.

If, on the other hand, you’re looking for a laugh, there are many comedies to choose from. Check out some of the classic Comedy Central Roasts, including Justin Bieber, James Franco, Donald Trump, and Rob Lowe. These hilarious, celebrity-filled nights of comedy will have you doubled over in laughter. Paramount+ also has stand-up specials available, including Demetri Martin, Deon Cole, John Mulaney, and Kumail Nanjiani. And there are some great comedies, including The Switch, Jeff Who Lives At Home, Morning Glory, and Zoolander.

Paramount+ includes CBS All Access. So, once you sign up for Paramount+, the CBS world is your live streaming oyster.

Watch NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, or NCIS: New Orleans to get your fix of crime and drama. Similarly, drama and crime-filled are the shows FBI and FBI: Most Wanted.

SEAL Team is a show that follows the personal and professional lives of a group of Navy SEALs. If you’re into military dramas, this will almost definitely be your kind of thing.

Keep up with news, sports, and your favorite TV shows by streaming through Paramount+.

Paramount+: A Streaming Service Worth Trying

Once upon a time, many of us only had one streaming service subscription. For years, we made do with Netflix’s library, while also perhaps still clinging to that old tradition of watching appointment TV on actual television. But times have changed, and many people have chosen to replace a huge cable bill with several streaming subscriptions.

If you’ve exhausted your watchlist on Netflix, Prime Video, and Hulu, it’s time to explore the world of Paramount+. Whether you’ve gotten bored of your current streaming options, are a big CBS fan, or just want to fulfill a lifelong dream of watching all 540 Survivor episodes, Paramount+ is the way to go.
