Making hard boiled eggs on the stove isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. They must be constantly monitored, and you can’t put too many eggs in at once. Even steaming eggs requires a lot of work. What a bummer. Luckily, we’ve found an easier more effective way to bake these beauties in the oven. Read on for our tips for the perfect hard-boiled eggs in oven, plus great dishes using this ingredient. Prepare to enjoy some easy peasy eggs-cellent eggs.

Before we can begin, let’s first gather the necessary kitchen items and ingredients.

    What You’ll Need

    • muffin tin (optional)
    • ice
    • water
    • medium mixing bowl
    • slotted spoon

    Ingredients

    • one dozen regular eggs (twelve)

Now that everything has been assembled, let’s get cracking on our new favorite way to hard boil eggs.

    Instructions

    Step #1: Prep Step

Begin by preheating your oven to 325 degrees. If it runs a little cooler, consider setting the temperature higher but no higher than 350 degrees at most.

    Step #2: Tin Time

Next, grab your muffin tin and place one egg in each of the holes; this is helpful so the eggs don’t move around and so they are easy to remove from the oven. If you don’t have a muffin tin, the eggs can cook in just the oven. Simply carefully place them directly on the grate while wearing oven mitts to avoid getting burned.

    Step #3: Outstanding Oven

Once your oven has been heated to the proper temperature, simply plop the muffin tin onto the middle rack. Bake for 30 minutes. Towards the end of that time frame, fill the medium mixing bowl about 2/3 full of water and ice. Set aside.

    Step #4: Ice Bath

Immediately remove the eggs from the oven after 30 minutes. Place them directly into the bowl filled with ice and water; this will stop them from cooking further. Let them cool for about 5-10 minutes. Then, peel and enjoy immediately, or keep them in the fridge for up to two weeks.
