Recipes that are delicious, healthy, simple to prepare, and finish in under 30 minutes are hard to come by. Lucky for you, we have a solution that meets all these requirements. Say hello to baked salmon in foil, the uncomplicated meal you can create in under half an hour, and feed the family with!

    Garlic Butter Salmon In Foil

    Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 2 pounds salmon
    • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 teaspoon oregano
    • 1 teaspoon parsley
    • 1 teaspoon rosemary
    • 1 teaspoon thyme

    Supplies

    • baking sheet
    • aluminum foil
    • mixing bowl
    • whisk

    Directions

    1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Make sure you put enough foil to completely wrap the salmon later on.

    2. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, garlic, salt and pepper, and your other spices. Whisk until everything is thoroughly mixed.

    3. Stick your salmon pieces, skin down, on the baking sheet. Drizzle the butter mixture onto your fish.

    4. As soon as your salmon is coated, fold up the aluminum foil on all sides. You’ll want to make sure your fish is completely sealed within the foil as this prevents the butter mixture from leaking.

    5. Stick your salmon in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the flesh easily flakes with a fork.

    Spice Things Up A Little

We already made note on how easy-going this recipe is; a few spices here and there with some butter and you’re pretty much good to go. But you can easily venture off the beaten path and spice things up with:

    • green onion
    • dill
    • turmeric
    • chili powder
    • honey
    • soy sauce

You can also swap out butter with 1 1/2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

A well-loved flavor booster for salmon is also lemon. You can add a tablespoon or so of lemon juice, or slice a whole lemon and leave the slices on your salmon as it bakes. The citrus will seep into the fish and come up with a beautiful tang.

No need to go nuts with the seasoning; a proper marinade can do wonders! Baked salmon holds enough flavor on its own, and adding too many spices will take away from the overall taste.

Once your baked salmon’s all done and ready for consumption, it’ll need a friend. Pair your fish with some of the following side dishes:

    • roasted or mashed cauliflower
    • sweet potatoes (roasted or mashed)
    • salad with spinach or lettuce
    • vegetables like asparagus or green beans

Salmon can also be added into a salad in lieu of grilled chicken. It’s an alternative healthy option that’ll give you a healthy serving of vitamins and nutrients. After all, salmon is considered a superfood.

Baked salmon in foil is a recipe you can turn to when you’re in a pinch. It’s healthy, packed with flavor, goes well with a variety of sides, and takes 20 minutes to make. You’ll be able to indulge in restaurant quality food from your very own home, and that’s something to celebrate!
