Our fudgy brownies serve as the delicious rich chocolatey base, while the Copycat Gideon’s Bakehouse chocolate chip cookie dough provides a chewy chocolate chip cookie topping.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 flour all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare an 8 by 8-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, pour the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla. Mix until blended. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Place a sieve over a large bowl. Pour the flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda into the sieve and sift. Add the dry sifted ingredients to the batter in the standing mixer bowl. Mix slowly.
Remove the bowl from the stand mixer. Using a wooden spoon, fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter evenly in the greased baking pan. Set aside.

- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup cake flour
- 3/4 cup bread flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional mini chocolate chips, garnish

Cube the butter into small cubes. In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugars for approximately 5 minutes. Add the egg. Mix until well blended.
Place a sieve over a large bowl. Pour the cake and bread flours into the sieve and sift. Add the sifted flours to the batter in the standing mixer bowl. Add the cornstarch, baking soda, and salt and mix until just combined. Do not over mix.
Using a wooden spoon, incorporate the chocolate chips into the dough. Next, using your hands flatten pieces of cookie dough. Place the cookie dough on top of the brownie batter until the entire surface is covered.
Place on the middle rack for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick or butter knife comes out clean when placed in the center.
Recipe Notes
All-purpose flour may be substituted for cake and bread flours.
